I haven't been so utterly excited to go to the comic book store every week since.

Hands down the Age of Apocalypse.

It's a bit unfair, though. The reason it's so good is because everything was possible, since it was an alternate reality. It didn't have the restraints most other X-over's have.

I also actually rather enjoyed Onslaught.

My personal favorite is Fatal Attractions. So many huge things happened in that story.

The X-Men buried Illyana, Magneto ripped Cable in half, he then ripped the adamantium off Wolverine (which at the time, was one of the coolest things I had ever seen done to a major character- and which had reprecussions for many years afterwards), Colossus joined Magneto, and Xavier gave Magneto a psychic lobotomy.

There was never a dull moment in that story and none of the tie-ins felt "empty". They didn't just have the word "Fatal Attractions part XX" slapped on it just to sell books, every issue had something important happen in it.

I haven't gotten to read all of them, since I have to get most in Trade form because I wasn't reading at the time, but I do enjoy the Mutant Massacre and Fall of the Mutants, mostly because they all lead up to Angel's transformation to Archangel and MM features a line up very close to my favorite X-Men Lineup

Wallstreet, gotta give it to you, you definitely bring up some good points with Fatal Attractions. That was a damn good storyline which was pretty much every fanboy's dream come true. I'd give it a very very close second to AoA.

Gotta agree with AoA. But I will say that Messiah Complex was a REALLY good crossover. A lot of cool moments for different characters and Cyclops finally asserting himself as not only leader of the X-Men, but the BOSS. Oh, and it showed the return of one of the cooler X-Men line ups: Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, and Angel.

I still have fond memories of the X-Tinction Agenda. When it starts, the team is still fractured, with several members still missing from going through the Siege Perilous. Only chibi-Storm, Forge, Banshee, Jean and Gambit are the remnants of the team, who are sharing the mansion with the New Mutants.

Genosha ambushes them at their home and WTF-pwns them, kidnapping chibi-Storm, Boom-Boom, Rictor, Wolfsbane and Warlock, wiping them of their powers and getting ready to turn them into mindless mutant slaves.

The rest of the New Mutants calls in X-Factor and they all begin sharpening their claws in anticipation for an assault on the nation island.

Having been kicking around the Pacific islands for awhile, Wolvie, Psylocke & Jubilee independently make an assault on the island themselves and nearly take down Cameron Hodge on their own, but ultimately fail.

We discover Havok is working for the Genosha military and has no memories from the Siege Perilous.

Boom-Boom, Ric & Jubilee manage to escape and we follow their evasive exploits.

The combined X-forces eventually prevails and Genosha falls. At the end, the X-Men are finally re-formed, after having been broken up for so long. Rogue & Colossus coming back after the consecutive Shadow King saga puts the final touches on the reformation.

I really liked this story a lot. The seeds were planted way back in the Uncanny 230’s and it was really cool to see the story unfold over time into its blossoming fruition.

i was in 6th grade then they cancelled all the x-books and rebooted them with different names (like the dark crap going on now) and got to see new versions of everybody

second would be the massacre and inferno which are two parts of the same story. the x-men finally meet a team who can kick they ass so bad they had a lineup change for the first time since giant-size #1. havok came back, the original psylocke who was still good lol, dazzleer and gambit's sperm donor, that dude with the mullet and they came back and kicked the living shit outta them and caught them off by suprise cuz they thought they was dead lol

x-men #240 is one of my all time fave australian team fights

fall of the mutants was another favorite cuz they was fighting in my hometown in dallas just a few blocks from my house near the galleria

o yea for anyone who posts after me: dark phoenix saga is no a cross-over because there was only one x-book back then!!
