DC Solicitations for June 2009

So what'll it be? I know Arn's spending massive amounts of money on DC for this month alone, but how about everyone else?

I'm teetering on the FC: Aftermath titles due to finances right now.. not sure I'll be getting them just yet, but possibly as trades instead. I'm really interested in Ink and Escape though.

Not to mention this is the aftermath of the Battle for the Cowl event as well, with every new Bat-Book up and running here.

Flash: Rebirth #3: Superman races the Flash. Oh hell yes!

Green Lantern #42: The end of the Orange Lanterns storyline, and Hal in yet ANOTHER?! Corps??? 4 out of 8.. or is that 5?

New writers for Teen Titans and Titans for the post-Deathtrap crossover are revealed: Teen Titans 72 is Bryan Miller and Titans 14 is Hugh Sterbakov. I'm not too familiar with either...

And this I MUST have: DC COMICS CLASSICS LIBRARY: THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA BY GEORGE PEREZ VOL. 1 HC

Finally in softcover: SUPERMAN AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES TP by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank

And I'm sure meek? will be working to cop the Women of the DC Universe: Vixen Bust :D

Streets of Gotham and Gotham City Sirens will be added to my pull list.

It's a great combination of great creative teams plus lesser used, but equally great characters.

Gotham City Sirens sounds pretty good, actually. And it does look great. Tempted.

Mitch, Streets of Gotham will stay at $3.99 for the whole run. To justify the raise, the book will have a regular back-up story : Manhunter by Andreyko and Janty.

So this is what I'm copping this month :

BATMAN AND ROBIN #1 >> Batman, Morrison, Quitely. Nuff said.

DETECTIVE COMICS #854 >> Been waiting for this book a loooong time, plus it has the Question back-up by Rucka. What's not to like about it?

BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #1 >> This one is a try. I'm hoping for something in the veins of Gotham Central, less cop-centric obviously.

THE SPIRIT #30 >> All Oeming issue.

EX MACHINA #43 >> Already on the pull list

FILTHY RICH HC >> I've decided to get all of the Vertigo Crimes book.

DARK ENTRIES HC >> See above, and the fact that it has art by Dell'Edera only makes the choice easier.

FABLES #85 >> Already on the pull list

JACK OF FABLES #35 >> Getting it to have the whole crossover

THE LITERALS #3 >> See above

AIR #10 >> Already on the pull list

DMZ #42 >> Already on the pull list (Guest art by Ryan Kelly! Give it a try!)

MADAME XANADU VOL. 1: DISENCHANTED TP >> 10 issues for $12.99. Can't mis that bargain. Though question for the NYCC people, didn't Karen announce this would be $9.99?

NORTHLANDERS #18 >> Already on the pull list
SCALPED #30 >> Already on the pull list
SEAGUY: THE SLAVES OF MICKEY EYE #3 >> Already on the pull list
THE UNWRITTEN #2 >> Already on the pull list

That's a grand total of $98. Fuck.

What the fuck do I care about that backstory?

Very interested in Batman and Robin, Streets of Gotham and Gotham City Sirens.

You should considering that Manhunter was one of the best DC books there was, and Kate Spencer as the new DA of Gotham will be great shit

I'm on the fence about getting Batman & Robin by Morisson & Quitley. I want to start getting back into collecting monthlies but I figure it'll be easier if I just wait for the trade paperback.

I'll post my full pull list later

Right, most likely:

BATMAN AND ROBIN #1
BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #1
GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #1
EX MACHINA #43
FABLES #85
JACK OF FABLES #35
THE LITERALS #3
HELLBLAZER #256
THE UNWRITTEN #2

Might get The Spirit #30 and the Madame Xanadu trade. Depends a bit on a few factors (money, mainly - and whether I change shops). I also like how The Unwritten's solicit mentions NOTHING of Lucifer. I mean, it's not as if it's the same creative team. :coffee:

Batman & Robin by Morrison & Quitely - Tentative. It'll no doubt be great, but I'm unsure if my pull list can handle a new third title.

Batman: Streets of Gotham - It'll be awesome! Dini & Andreyko is a powerhouse team but I'm really not too big of a fan of Nguyen but Geroges Jeanty will on it so I hope this will balance it out.

Gotham City Sirens: Like I've said earlier, it's a winning combination of great creative team (well mostly Dini) and great but underused characters. I'm not familiar at all with Guillem March's work.

Superman/Batman #61 - I usually like this series, it provides solid, if sometimes predictable entertainment. But this whole combining of the Supes and Bats has been done in varying degrees since the series kicked off and now I'm growing weary of it. Something new fellas, something new.

The Brave and The Bold #24 - Again, solid entertainment, if a little predictable.

Justice League of America - I'm struggling to find reasons to justify continuing to get this series...

Justice Society of America #28 - Good fun.

Fables #85

Jack of Fables - Tentative. I don't know if I want the crossover parts just because it has Bigby in them...
Air #10

Superman and Batman vs. Vampires and Werewolves
100 Bullets vol 13: Wilt

Maybe that's cause it's the solicit for issue 2 and they went all over the fact that it's the Lucifer team in the solicits of issue 1?
