Upcoming maintenance/migration

Hey folks,

It looks like we're going to have to do some work in the next month or so that may be pretty drastic. The short version is that the forum software is way out of date and can't run under newer versions of PHP. The PHP version we're running is no longer supported, and we're going to be charged $5/month to run the old PHP version, starting in July.

My first step will be an attempt to upgrade phpBB to the latest version. In the worst absolute case, I'll experiment with migrating phpBB to Discourse, a newer type of forum.

The SSL certificate for the site is also expired, which I can also get fixed.

I'll post here with updates as they happen.
