Bryan Singer Accused of Sexual Assault

Last week's news, Bryan Singer was accused of sodomizing a 15 year old boy at a party over 10 years ago when the boy was 15. Singer allegedly gave the boy drugs and alcohol. The abuse and threats (if the boy didn't comply) took continued over several years.

Singer denies all of this and is fighting it.

Having read some of the articles and accounts of the alleged abuse, it's honestly very hard dismiss it. If there is any truth to this then Singer needs to be prosecuted, if there is not, Singer's name will have been dragged through the mud and his rep may never recover.

The boy accused Singer of raping him, not just of having sex. He drugged him and then raped him repeatedly, supposedly.

Reddit had a thread that basically laid out a bunch of sketchy shit that Singer has done previously. He's had many young males (18-23 usually) live for short periods of time at his house with people saying he has a "boy toy of the month" and after he gets tired of them he kicks them out of the house. Loads of pictures with him at bars with these young males as well as his arm wrapped around them. Supposedly he has a lot of them appear in his movies as background characters or just as assistants on set. One of them he supposedly got to work on the X-Men 2 script.

Then there was a post about some nasty shit that went down during Apt Pupil, where a bunch of high school age boys (16 and 17) were told they could wear speedos for a shower scene, then told it would be a flesh colored thong, and then once they arrived on set they were told to completely strip. The small scene was shot for 4 hours with majority of people on set leering and taking pictures of them naked. If one tried to leave then Singer went into a hissy fit and lost his shit, supposedly. 2 of the boys went on to file a lawsuit but I don't know what came out of it.

All of this stuff is rumors so no clue how accurate it is. Still, that's some pretty crazy things stated!

I've heard things about his sex life being pretty wild, this is something else entirely.

I'll wait and see for more evidence before I make any judgement though.

The timing of this right before the new X-Men movie though, makes me feel like it could somewhat be a "pay me to go away" scenario.

I wouldn't be surprised if the accuser tried getting money first and Singer didn't expect him to follow through.

No matter what, this definitely taints his reputation and, for me, his hand in the X-Men film franchise. It'll make it difficult to go back and watch and enjoy these films, and even DoFP to an extent even with the allegation and some of the similar stories I've read in a few articles about the subject. Even moreso if any of this comes to be true and he's found guilty.

If any of these allegations prove true, the guy deserves to be in jail.

However, with stuff like this, it's impossible to say until the evidence comes out.

I hate how the media handles this kind of thing though, like with the Duke Lacross players.

I have the feeling Singer is fucked either way.
