Comics You Want to Try?
I thought this would be interesting. Are there any old (or new) series you've wanted to read?
I for one would like to try Hellboy or Hellblazer, but the sheer size of the runs make me hesitate to start.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I can't remember all the series I wanted to read but here are a few:
I'd like to read Simonson's Thor run.
And while I've read the majority of the Wolfman/Perez New Teen Titans, I'd like to get all of it and read the whole thing. I'm not sure what all I haven't read really.
Edit: I have things like Scalped, DMZ, and Northlanders on my to read list, but I actually want to collect those as well in trade and have ordered a few. So I guess that counts?

I'd also like to read the Hellblazer run as well and I think I may do that in the near future.
I'd also like to read certain runs of Vampirella, specifically the masterworks runs written by Morisson, Busiek, Millar, Moore & Ellis
Another run I wish I'd gotten into was the Whedon run of Astonishing X-Men and the first Geoff Johns run of JSA. There are more in there which I can't remember
Also, the Dan Slott run of She-Hulk, Aaron's Punisher Max, & Bendis original run on Avengers from 03 or 04
Most of Image's titles

Right there with you on Hellboy.wolf_2099 wrote:I thought this would be interesting. Are there any old (or new) series you've wanted to read?

But Hellblazer is sometihng you SHOULD read. Although the quality is not great, the new TPB's they're putting out are a great way to collect the run if you're not interested in singles. I know I'm getting them (up to the point where I started with the singles, of course).
Wait, what, Vampirella was written by those guys? That I'd love to read.

Looks like Morrison and Millar both wrote issues 1-9 of the Vampirella: The New Monthly (1997) [they also have credits to a Vampirella (1998) but I think that's a reprint of the other).
Mark Millar also wrote issue 6 of Vampirella Strikes (1995), Vampirella vs Pantha (1997), the first 3 issues of Vampirella (2001), and Vampirella: Nowheresville (2002).
Kurt Busiek wrote the first 4 issues of Vampirella Morning In America (1991) and the first 2 issues of Vampirella (1992).
Warren Ellis wrote the first 3 issues of Vampirella Lives (1996), the Vampirella/Dracula & Pantha Showcase (1997) (with Alan Moore), the Vampirella / Dracula: The Centennial (1997) (with Alan Moore), and Vampirella/Shi (1997).

Heh, the funny thing is, I have the complete run of Hellboy and Hellblazer completed and at home.MGM wrote:Right there with you on Hellboy.

Are you talking about Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory run? Where he did 7 minis? I've read it and it's pretty important to read in trade rather than singles. The trades put them in his designed reading order rather than 4 straight issues of Shinning Knight, 4 straight issues of Frankenstein, etc. It's confusing at first, but it really comes together well halfway through (or so I remember it). It's been awhile since I've read it, and I feel like I might understand it better now.

Part of me would also like to read Miller's Daredevil run. I feel like I could appreciate it now. I'd also like to read the sort of "college years" of Amazing Spider-Man. The years with Peter, MJ, Harry, Flash, and Gwen. I need to look up what the issues would be and if it really is college or just the end of high school. But if I recall right it's part of Romita Sr.'s run on the book.

It was awful. McFarlense couldn't let the reigns go and let other people od their thing with it, and it ended up getting jumbled and horribly writted.MGM wrote:I think I couldn't stand looking at Spawn at the bad periods.
It's supposed to be better with the new Spawn now, but I can't bring myself to read it. It's another character that has had some great creators working on it.
