X-Men: Gold is a one-shot commemorating the 50th anniversary.

Thor 2 was a lot of fun, definitely a different feel than the first. It mixed romantic comedy with all the superhero action in a good combo. In fact, some friends said the comedic tones made this one of their favorite Marvel movies.

Really enjoyed Thor 2. Lots of action and comedy and also Loki really steals the show. The post-credit scene however... made me cringe totally. Had to make sure I hadn't fallen into a time pit that brought me back to the 80s.

Just to check, are you referring to the mid-credit scene, or the post-credit scene? I wasn't a fan of the post-credit scene but the mid-credit scene was appetizing for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Like Chris said, X-Men Gold is just a one shot with some new stories from Claremont, and I think a few others. It's an anniversary issue, nothing more.

Speaking of Anniversary specials, have you guys seen the decades variants for X-Men? Five covers that show X-Men teams from various decades, but honestly I think they look terrible, especially compared to the Avengers variants that were released. It's like there wasn't much put into the X-Men issues.

The Spider-Man decades variants were awesome.

Also, Thor 2 was good, but all this summer blockbuster world ending movies are starting to blend together.
That scene when Thor walks into the apartment was awesome, too.

I'm talking about the mid credit one. The look on that character looked like something straight out of the 80s.

Heh, I chuckled at that. It did look straight out of the 80s, but that's how the character looks in the comics. They just played it up on purpose, I think it fits with the personality they gave him.

I kind of liked it. That's the movie I'm really worried/apprehensive about for Phase 2, but it actually got me interested. He looked ok to me, giving an eccentric "out-there" vibe to the whole concept. I'm glad they didn't try to make him look really old like he normally does, but kept him at his actual age (or at least it looked that way to me).

I enjoyed the mid credit scene. Mainly for the introduction of a new character to get you interesting in Guardians and also the revelation about the infinity stones.
Incidentally, it's been confirmed by Kevin Feige, the Marvel movie guy that the Tesseract is the 'purple' space gem. Looked pretty blue to me and although it makes sense that it's the space one as it opened up a wormhole, a gem sized cut of it controlled minds.

I did however find it bizarre that the Asgardians just handed over a powerful weapon to someone who clearly imprisons live specimens capable of experiencing suffering.
