Newsarama controversy

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

2 Days ago Newsarama posted their list of the Top Ten Best Comic Book Movie Performances

They did not include Christopher Reeve at all, and several comic creators called them out on it.

Yesterday Newsarama did their Top Ten Worst Comic Book Movie Performances and they listed Christopher Reeve at #9.

The backlash was so just nuts. Everyone and their mother spammed Newsaramas Facebook page with negative comments (Most all of them accurate) calling out Newsarama for just stirring the pot in an attempt to create "controversy". Even some creators bashed newsarama for their article: most notably Mark Waid & Dan Slott.

It got so bad that the very same day Newsarama released Top Ten Worst list, they released an Op-Ed piece about how great an actor Reeve was.

All in all, it was a funny 2 days for Newsarama.

It really seemed to get out of hand at one point. Their topic was worst performances, and they based him there off of what seemed to be plot points rather than acting. So I didn't understand why Reeves was on that list. But Waid's reaction was pretty intense, declaring Newsarama the new Wizard and saying he will no longer read their site nor does he want to hear from them.
