Comiccon Paris 2012

Post by XIII »

So, Paris Comic Con is taking place from the 5th to the 8th of July.

Here is the comics line up for "Artist's Alley" so far :

Ivan Reis (guest of honor)
Tony Daniel
Yannick Paquette
Jorge Molina
Mahmud Asrar
Rafael Albuquerque

Also to be noted : Joe Madureira is a guest of the video game part of the Con. Many believes he will drop by Artist Alley too but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Anyway, this line-up does not make me want to attend. I don't know if they will add more names but it would have to be big ones to get me to go.

It's in 2 months. I don't expect more names cause I guess it's very hard to attract creators and pay for their trip. This show is a lot more "geek" culture in general than just comics.

How long would it take you to get to Paris from where you are?

2h train ride. But that's about $130 return ticket. Not worth it so far.

That really blows.

Are there any decent comic sellers normally?

Oh, no. It's really just a small artist alley with the above mentioned artists and one small booth where they sell comics. Then Panini (Marvel) and Delcourt (DC) will probably have a booth too with guest artists but to get a sketch or a sig there, you have to win a draw or something like that.
Comics are not big enough in France to sustain a real Comicon. So the floor will be mostly manga, video games, TV shows, and geek toys.

Slutty Tomb Raider.

(I'm not sure how I could make it sluttier)

A coworker of mine wants to go cause it's also Japan Expo. Says we should get there together. Really don't feel like walking around Japan Expo.
