Okay this kind of weird, even for me.

Shumaila wants to name our unborn child Arkham.

I shit you not. Arkham.

Apparently Arkham is also a Pakistani name as well as an English name and in retrospect it occurs to me that one of my friends in Pakistan who I grew up with (very briefly) was named Arkham; only its pronounced differently (but spelled the same as it is in English). Because of the different way the name is prounced back home I never made the connection that my friend.

Personally, despite being a big old comic geek and generally liking the name Arkham, I'm not jumping at the prospect of naming my son after a fictional mental institution...

I'm curious, how is Arkham pronounced?

My niece's name is Sora Josephine but we call her Josie (Sora was the name of one of my sister-in-law's midwives that really helped them out). My sister-in-law's sister had a baby (and, ironically enough, she's married to my brother's best friend) and they named the child Stella Kendall.

I agree it's a nice name but the connotation it'd have for you is pretty weird lol still a great story.
