This is not a comic but its an awesome acquisition nonetheless. When/where'd you get it?wolf_2099 wrote:Miracleman by Bowen Statue
Anything special about these issues?Tragic Angelus wrote:Justice League of America 140, 141.
Not perfect, but I got them for free when the boss bought a couple of short boxes filled with some random books.
I got:
Joker by Brian Azzerallo & Lee Bermejo
Gotham Central vol 1
Secret vol 2: Unhinged
Asylum of Horrors vol 1
Asylum of Horrors vol 2
Nightmare World vol 1
True to my word I am sampling a wider variety of comics. The Asylum Press books are a really small press publishing co. putting out anthologies of horror stories at a very low price. 96 pages for $4.95 is not a bad deal and given that they are so cheap, I won't feel so bad if they turn out horrible. Nightmare World is another anthology series written by Dirk Manning with various artists that was originally available on his website then collected in this trade. If it turns out to be good I'll get volume 2.
Gotham Central & Secret Six, I know, will be amazing

Nothing special about those books, I just enjoy the Satellite era of the JLA and a little of the time just before, so when I find them for good cheap prices I try to pick them up. When I wanted to get into it I stumbled across a dealer who had them at $1 a book at a small show, so I pretty much bought up his collection, and now fill in whenever I find more. I don't know what I do and don't have though right now, so it makes it hard.
And speaking of Asylum Press, we'll have 'Decapitated' Dan selling and representing tons of Small Press Horror books at our show, including Asylum Press. If you do find you like them and want more, I might be able to get you some things. Let me know.

It is, but it isn't, as they are 22 years apart.Stocky Boy wrote:Nice Batman statue.
It's quite funny to think how that's David Mazzucchelli, when you compare it to his other famous, excellent piece of work that he not only did the art for, but wrote as well Asterios Polyp.
Is Asterios Polyp any good? If you read it.

I've wanted to put and order with MidtownComics for awhile and the opportunity finally came:
1 Action Comics #900 Regular David Finch Cover $5.09
1 Angel Scriptbook Vol 1 TP $11.00
1 Angel Scriptbook Vol 2 TP $11.00
1 Angel Vol 3 #33 Incentive Jenny Frison Virgin Cover $3.39
1 Angel Vol 3 #39 Incentive David Messina Variant Cover $4.25
1 Angel Vol 3 #40 Incentive Nick Runge Variant Cover $4.25
1 Angel Vol 3 #42 Incentive Nick Runge Variant Cover $3.39
1 Angel Vol 3 #43 Incentive Elena Casagrande Variant Cover $3.39
1 Angel Vol 3 #44 Incentive David Messina Variant Cover $3.39
1 Physics Of The Buffyverse TP $12.75
Basically, this week I only bought the 2 variants for Action 900 (I skipped the regular cover since I didn't want to pay an extra $6 for it). Now with the whole controversy with the issue, the price is going up on eBay and I wanted to get the regular cover just to have a full set. Then I found out they have the incentive Angel covers for cover price. My retailer doesn't order enough Angel to even get 1 incentive cover (in the beginning he did but not for the last 20 issues or more) and I wanted to get some of the awesome looking incentives (especially the one for 44 which emulates the infamous "walking down an alley with his back to the viewer" scene). Then I found the 2 Scriptbooks, and I've always wanted them so I nabbed them. Then I just couldn't resist the Physics of Buffy, that sounds very interesting. Now that I know they have cheap variants and good price on shipping, I may start to get some variants with them instead of with my local store (he's usually cheap but damn, some of these are cheaper!)

Justice League of America Vol. 1 #21 "Crisis on Earth-One!"
It's not in the best condition by far, but it was an early graduation gift given to me by my comic shop owner at a local show we went to today. The spine's curling and some pages are a bit loose, but honestly, I didn't really care. It's the first time the JLA meet and team up with the JSA so I'm very happy.
I also bought:
JLA/Titans #1-3
Justice League of America Vol. 1 #161, 165, 171, 173, 174, 176, 177, 178, 180, 182, 186, 187, 205, 206, 214, 217, 218, 240
Justice League of America postcard set by George Perez (not including Batman).
All in all, a good JLA day. With a bonus Green Lantern mask toy from the movie. Hells yeah!
