Marvels new event is here, and for the first time, I am unsure whether I will bother to buy it. I'll try the first issue, but I am sick of events and the $4 price tag is steep.

I love how the Point One issue of Uncanny is 2.99, while the regular book is 3.99. Get them into the book, then sucker them out of more money.

Which is funny, considering the second issue isn't even slated for release, or close to done.jedispyder wrote: NONPLAYER #1 [just an FYI, everyone, this issue is already selling for $10 on eBay before it's even released so you may want to pick up a copy]
The artwork is beautiful, but chances are this book will be plagued by delays killing any value and excitement for it.
That said, still going to try and find a copy.

They've been talking about it on BleedingCool saying how big it's going to be (which obviously makes it bigger than it was going to be before getting several articles there, ironic). And yeah, issue number 2 won't be out for a very long time. He said the first issue took him a year or so to make but I think he's about halfway through the second issue so maybe around Autumn or so...
I may be a dick and try to score 2 copies (1 from my regular retailer and another from a different retailer I go to occasionally).

I have also noticed bleeding cool inflates the popularity of the comic.jedispyder wrote:They've been talking about it on BleedingCool saying how big it's going to be (which obviously makes it bigger than it was going to be before getting several articles there, ironic). It's never as popular as they expect and also makes the damn first issue harder to find.

It doesn't look too bad, but personally, I don't see anything outstanding or amazing about the book. I haven't heard anything about it on CBR, Newsarama, or even IGN. I rarely check Bleeding Cool, maybe once every month or so since that's much more speculative than anything it seems. I can't say there's a lot to that book so far that I'd want to invest in.

I generally just stay on BleedingCool cause even though they have a lot of speculation they post it ASAP. Newsarama has gotten quite bad, IMO. Same old cookie-cutter posts all the time and they miss out on some of the more "popular" stuff going on. Only Bleeding Cool had stuff about Rob Granito, made everyone wonder why no one else chose to report on those extreme events that weekend...

My guess with the Granito stuff was because they were somehow involved in being fooled and didn't want to point it out, for fear of being disapproved. Or if it was totally covered there maybe it wasn't worth them getting into. BC doesn't seem to get to have the presence at most Cons like Rama and CBR, who go in for interviews, booths, and more. They were probably a little busy during those Con weekends. Taking your time to make sure you have some facts and a bit more in depth coverage on some news items is worth it to me rather than immediate speculation.

What I've seen several times is that Bleeding Cool starts with speculation and then shows how they either prove/disprove it. The start of the articles with Granito were very good and detailed with the steps taken. I do agree that BC is "lesser" in voice than Newsarama and CBR, it just seems Newsarama has been slipping a lot recently. No longer can you participate in discussions on items was the big thing that made me start to dislike them =o/

I agree with that. Newsarama spends more time & effort reporting on Marvel, DC, Image & to a lesser degree Darkhorse. During the Cons Newsarama spends more time jerking off the main 4 publishing companies than giving the smaller & independent presses a fraction of the newspace they getjedispyder wrote:I generally just stay on BleedingCool cause even though they have a lot of speculation they post it ASAP.
