And congrats on picking up the variant Ultimate Spider-man issue. How/when/where did you get it?
eBay, it was listed for about 2 minutes before I bought it. Cheapest NM I have seen. Lots of VF listed lately though.

I've never seen one in person before except a couple at NYCC.

The Losers vol 5 Endgame :chewie:

Now my collection is almost complete. All I need to do is track down and buy the remaining 4 trades. But wait! Thats too much trouble. It seems as if the smarter thing would be to buy the new editions that are being released and get rid of the vol 5 trade that I have.

Woe unto me. If only there were someone who I could give this hard to find final trade of The Losers to. Someone who really wants and needs the trade in order to complete their collection. If only there were someone...

Done! You can have it, for free, when we meet up at NYCC. Maybe you can get some use out of it. :)

Over the weekend:

American Way 1-8

Another 'full run' collection that was at the shop here that turned out to be a rather enjoyable read.

Big thumbs up to Wally for getting the complete Queen and Country. I swear you won't regret it.
Be sure to get the novels as well. Rucka is brilliant.

Q&C might be my favorite comic.

At least favorite in recent memory.

British Spies.

The series is centered on Tara Chace, an operative of the Special Operations Section of SIS, colloquially known as the Minders. It attempts to portray the bureaucracy and politics which the agents deal with realistically, as well as including the dangerous missions typical of the spy genre.

1 story arc had artwork I did not like, but it was only 4 issues, and even still, it was fine.

The 3 books that tie into it are also excellent.

I only picked it up because nearly everyone here was raving about it. However, if you guys are wrong about this, I will hurt you come October.

Are the novels companion parts to the Q&C series or are they just novelizations of the comic?

The fit into the comics. One is to be read near the end of the series, between 2 storyarcs, and one is read at the end of the series.

They are not novelization. At one point the comics went on hiatus and Rucka told a very important chapter in the story of the characters in a book. Then the comics came back and told the story of the aftermath of the book. Then the comics stopped for good and Rucka told the further story in a second book.

I think Rucka says he is planning to return to Q&C comics but he wants to make sure there are as many issues done as possible before relaunching because he doesn't want the series to be plagued by delays.

A new book is supposed to come out in October.

3 books? There are only been 2 books so far, right?

My old shop manager had his Grand Opening for his own shop today and had a big 50% off sale on the back issue a friend and former customer actually donated for him to have as stock. It was mostly Uncanny, X-Men, X-Factor, Generation X, Wolverine, and some Byrne FF, all of which he had almost full runs on for about 100 issues or so plus a few other books as well. So I nabbed almost all the accessable issues of Uncanny X-Men that I was missing:

171, 172, 173, 176, 177, 178, 179
204, 209
269, 270, 275, 279,
289, 290, 292, 294,
310, 312, 313, 314, 315, 319,
325
344, 346

Possibly a few more issues as well, but I didn't update my checklist after I nabbed the 2nd batch when I found out I was getting an additional discount. I'll see what else I got and double check. He gave me basically every book for a quarter, some a bit more, so I spent almost $15, and everything looks to be in really good condition, as he had some of them at about $4 -$7 or cover price. I'd say I made out ok.

Now, I'm only really missing issues 1-44, 46-98, 100-103, and a few other scattered issues up until 130. I think I have every single issue from 131 on to today, with the exception of MAYBE 1 or 2 books. I'm almost entirely ok with that being a damn near complete Uncanny X-Men collection. If I get the missing early 100s, I'd call it almost fair game as that original stuff is just way too rare.

Good luck with it, it can be a bitch to find the 1-93 issues for a reasonable price.

I am missing maybe 40-50 issues from 1-89, and they are a bitch. Mostly because it is hard to jusitfy spending that kind of cash on reprints, and comics that have been reprinted as much as they have.

94-150 or so is the really awesome stuff, though.

Oh, my bad, I meant to say if I DON'T get the missing early 100s, I'd call it almost fair game. I really don't expect to get anything 1-80s. The ones I do have were either gifts or pretty rough copies of other books, like my #99 isn't the best copy. I'd be very happy to just get about 99-current and call it a day for the most part on that series unless I strike it rich.
