NYCC Passes
So I looked at the exhibitor list and saw that the guys I know are going to NYCC.
I was going to speak to them about getting 2-5 exhibitor passes. If I do, I would like to pay them for them. I was thinking either $60-80 for each, considering a weekend pass is $45.
Also, possibly offering to help them set up for an hour or two Thursday night or Friday morning.
How do you guys feel about that? No pressue, I'm not even sure if they'd do it, just though I'd ask you folks before feeling them out. I'm seeing them again in 2 weeks and was going to ask then.
What these passes would do is allow us access to the floor before everyone else. No line-ups. It is sort of good for autographs and sketches, as it allows you to get in line and be first before the stampede of people, or if they are there, get them with no one around. IE - Go in at 10am Friday instead of 1pm, I also imagine there would be quite a few guests there at that time, too.
It would also allow us to do our walking around and shopping (this is the big one) with no one on the floor but exhibitors.
If we do manage to get the passes, we would be able to sell the ones we have Friday morning no problem, at face value, I imagine.

If you could swing that, it would be really awesome. I wouldn't mind getting there before the crowds. Do some shopping , walking around and getting the lay of the land sounds like an efficient use of time. Also hit up the creators beforehand.
Just one thing though, and I don't even know if they'll do it again this year, but Thursday night Dave & Buster's Bar might be having a pre-Con party like they did last year so I don't know if you'd still want to volutneer Thursday night. Friday morning, yeah no prob but not so sure about Thursday night.
So, given all that, I'm game if other folks are.

I bet you'd just be able to sell them in line to people waiting for passes, as they are more expensive to buy at the show.Stocky Boy wrote:I think I'm game.
Anyone looked to see if we can just get refunds on the current passes?
I did it at Calgary and Toronto, it was a breeze, and probably easier than a refund.

I'd be totally in if it means we can get on the ground on Friday morning and skip the queues (without having to pull our usual "let's just walk past security hoping they don't notice we don't have the right badge").
Also in to help out on Thursday. That would make it a complete convention experience.
And very selfishly, it might help getting a nice sketch from Cooke. No?

I spoke to him about that at Toronto, he is going to make me a matching Batman, I have to pay of course, but I am happy.XIII wrote:I'd be totally in if it means we can get on the ground on Friday morning and skip the queues (without having to pull our usual "let's just walk past security hoping they don't notice we don't have the right badge").

Next weekend when I am back in Montreal.MGM wrote:Only did notice just now the part about heling setting their stuff up. Of course that'll be no problem. Hell, it'll likely be fun to do.
Any word on the passes yet (dunno when you were gonna ask)?

Good news, not so much news.
They tell me I can get a pass, but are unsure about everyone as they don't know how many they get. I can at least get us at the front of un-jumpable line-ups.
Like Bruce Campbell. WOO
They're slammed this weekend as they are the guys doing the con, but I'll e-mail next weekend after everythings calmed down from this show.
