And Cooke's run on the Spirit barely average, which should give you an indication of how bad the Spirit currently is. :D

Let's fight it out in front of Darwyn Cooke's signing table. The Winner gets to take Cooke home.

Damn you Euro's and you getting all the recalled comics.

I kind of want to try and get my hands on the Elseworlds 80 Page Giant, LoEG 5 Marvel Douche issue, and Universe X Spidey Bob Harras slur issues, but they all were shipped to Europe and really hard to find here. The only places selling them have them for at least $100 bucks over what they're worth.

I will try to see if I can find it here but that very unlikely. There's no trip to Paris planned for me and I don't think they will have that at my shop here in Lyon.

They are also about $200 comics, so, yeah. If you do ever see one though, let me know, I'd be curious what they were selling for.

Toronto Fan Expo!
Went for a few hours Friday, it was surprisingly big. Marvel and DC both had a booth set-up.
I didn’t but a whole lot just True Blood Con Variant Swamp Thing 21, 23, 37 and the recalled Elseworlds 80 Page Giant. I also raided the dollar bins for stuff to get signed in NYC.
I got this stuff signed:
Marvel Milestones: Uncanny X-Men 1 1 Personally Signed by Stan Lee
Midnight Nation 1 Signed by Gary Frank - B Cover
Venom: Tooth and Claw 1 Signed by Joe St. Pierre
Nemesis 1 Personally Signed by Steve McNiven
Runaways Vol 1 6 Personally Signed by Alphona

All in all good show, except for the cluster fuck of them always going over capacity and having to stop letting people in.

I was only on the floor for about 3 hours when the show was actually open to the public though.

I did, too, until I searched Gary Frank.

I need to go back and re-read it.

It's funny though, I've been to three shows where JMS was supposed to come, and he cancelled all of them.

I'd love to reread it at some point, I think I have the trade somewhere but no sure. And sucks JMS kept cancelling, his work is hit or miss for me (I'm not a fan of some of his Marvel stuff).

I do agree about his Marvel stuff, but his created stuff (and The Twelve) is awesome.

I loved Rising Stars.

I wish I knew where my Rising Stars trades were, I love rereading the series every couple of years. I'm missing a long box full of trades at my mom's house (aka I don't want to go through all 40 long boxes to try and find the single TPB long box, lol).

Holy shit!! They are gorgeous!!!!
How much did you pay for each? Also, who is the artist for the middle one, I can't recognize the signature (damn, I'm humbled).

Great sketches!!

Also, I completely forgot to check this Italian comic books you mentioned. I'll do that tomorrow.

The one in the middle is robertson again. It is an unpublished boys cover of butcher. It was expensive.

$80 for spider, 150 for the tim sale spider-man (he was a flat rate for everything) and more than those combined for the blue line boys cover.

I thought 80 bucks for that spider Jerusalem was unbelievable. I thought I'd be getting a head shot. Darick Robertson was the best I've seen for sketches so far. He'll do a pencil sketch for minimum $40 (which were still good) and for whatever more you want to pay, he'll do that much for detail.

So that spider was $60, then I remembered to ask whether it was pencil or ink, and he said pencil, but for another 20 he'd go over it in ink. Great guy.

So eh... what's about a fair price for a sketch?

40-60 for a headshot that is about 8 by 8, like my darwyn cooke one that I posted last year.
150-200 for a full body like that spider one.

Free for a little headshot, maybe 2 by 2, not much more than a doodle, which is what arn has in his book. Although some of them give awesome little sketches for free, just depends when you catch them.
