BIRDS OF PREY #4
SUPERMAN #702
WELCOME TO TRANQUILITY ONE FOOT GRAVE #2 (OF 6)
ZATANNA #4
X-MEN #2
I'm really considering not getting this new X-Men series for very long, which I'm still unsure of since I've picked up the previous 2 'ongoing 3rd core' book in X-Treme and Astonishing in their entirity, and wanted to with this one as well. Who knows.
On the bright side, BoP and Tranquility mean a double dose of Simone, and Zatanna adds even more to it!

I've heard quite a bit about it and I would like to pick it up, but budgetary constraints prevent me from adding it to the list. Most likely I'll pick it up in trade paperback down the road.Tragic Angelus wrote:Wally, since you've come to enjoy Gail's writing, have you ever looked at Welcome to Tranquility?
I know I'll enjoy the title because it's Simone. Between Secret Six, WW, BoP and various other work she's done, I haven't read a single thing by her that I haven't enjoyed so I'm not even concerned that I'll like ti & hate it.

Good deal! I picked it up on a whim when I saw my shop had issues 1-12 together for like, $15. And I asked them how many issues were in the series total, and they said that's it. So the first run is only 12 issues, and really really good, fun humor and a fun take on aging superheroes.Mr Wallstreet wrote:I've heard quite a bit about it and I would like to pick it up, but budgetary constraints prevent me from adding it to the list. The new book out now is a 6 issue mini, which after the first issue was good, but I'd say you definitely need to have some background knowledge of the first series. Simone does a good job with a lot of exposition on what happend in those 12, so it's spoilerfilled, but still a great read.
I think the trades are in 2 volumes, but I don't know how difficult it is to find the singles. I stumbled across theirs one day and bought it then, and I didn't regret my choice.

Man, I'm glad I picked this up because it's evidently a runaway hit, people on eBay are selling this for $10 and more and it's just a week old. Hot damn I made the right decision! Anyone else pick it up?jedispyder wrote:I've heard a lot of buzz for Morning Glories so I guess I'll pick up the first issue to see how it goes.
