BLACKEST NIGHT DIRECTORS CUT
GREEN LANTERN #53
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #44
SUPERGIRL #52
X-MEN LEGACY #235
Not a bad week with Supergirl, GL, and Legacy. JLA remains to be a hit yet. And the Director's Cut is a maybe, depending on availability and what I see when I thumb through it. At 5.99, I want more than the first issue with some sketches like the FC Director's Cut had, that I avoided.

God knows when I'll get these comics and the followings. The ash cloud from the Iceland volcano is grounding all the flights in Europe and when traffic comes back up, people will be the priority over freights.
Fortunately, I have plenty of catching up to do on TPBs.

Speaking of, what's it like above you there? Is it actually visible from the ground? Most of the things I've seen on the news doesn't seem to show problems on the ground, but like you said it's all the air and dangerous up to 20,000 feet. Has there been any kind of health warning or anything for possible settling ash or in things like car engines when it does settle?XIII wrote:God knows when I'll get these comics and the followings. Well... I'd hope not.
But I was curious since they said it really affected the Plane's engines so severly, what would happen when it settled in larger areas on the ground if it it would have an impact on cars and other engines, or if it was plane specific. Hopefully you're all safe and sound soon with flight okayed.

The Blackest Night Director's Cut is ANYTHING but a reprint of Issue 1 with minor additions.
It comes with Character Designs and bios, both used and unused designs, from the Black Lanterns to the Deputy Lanterns to the Entity, cover galleries, including unused covers, Blackest Night #1 Script, the "Director's Commentary" for scenes and panels from issues 1-8 of the main title, scenes that dind't make it in, and toy line news and info.
It's literally like a bonus feature disc toa dd to the series rather than the first issue with some sketches. Looks like this was definitely worth it for me, though I've yet to sit down and read through it all.

But what I did get does make up for it, I got to get stuff from Free Comic Book Day. The Marvel Iron Man and Thor issue kinda sucked, lol. The DC War of the Supermen 0 was pretty cool, thinking I might pick up the mini. Flipped though the IDW GI Joe issue and it looks good, gonna have to brush up on the Marvel issues if I'm gonna even think of reading it though. If anyone wants me to write up anything on the issues just let me know...

Truth be told the issue doesn't exactly make sense without them finishing the current War on New Krypton thingy that's going on. It starts with Supes confronting Zod for declaring war on Earth, claiming this will be the death of both planets. Supes gets the beatdown from Ursa and Non. He claims he "never turned his back on Earth" and Zod reveals the main reason he allowed Supes on New Krypton was to train Red Shard how to actually use their powers which in then allowed everyone else to unknowing get trained as well. Zod has been planning his assault on Earth since everything started, he never "turned a new leaf" and went good. Supes obviously goes "I'll never allow you to do this" and we get the Watchmen moment of "the call went out 30 minutes ago" with us seeing a fuckton of Kryptonians flying towards Earth ready to fight. The last half of the issue is a summary of the past couple years and what has gone on in the form of Lois writing a story with her saying she'll reveal what her father is. It ends with Jimmy Olsen, who is supposed to be dead, walking into the Daily Planet (this takes place at night when it's empty) claiming "do I have a story for you!"
