Rate this year's Summer Movie season

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

For me it was very lackluster, especially in comparison to last year. Last year, I was excited almost every week for the newest release. This year not so much. This year it was disappointment, after disappointment.

I did not care at all for Wolverine.

Star Trek was a great film; lots of fun.

Terminator Salvation looked and sounded shitty.

Haven't seen Transformers 2 yet so can't comment.

Harry Potter was average. The acting of Radcliffe, Grint & Emma seems to be getting progressively worse.

Aaaaand G.I.Joe just came out but I haven't seen it. Plan to but haven't seen it yet.

What do you guys think?

Actually, the only one I've seen is Star Trek, and I greatly enjoyed it. I haven't been to the movies in quite a while, though I know for certain the next thing I'll see is Where the Wild Things Are.

I concur, except the movie I'm looking forward to is District 9.

Don't think I'll bother with Terminator Salvation or GI Joe. I stopped the Terminator stuff after the last one, and I was never into GI Joe so the movie doesn't really appeal to me.

I want to see Harry Potter, soley because I don't read the books but I've found the movies to be fun. I heard this one destroys the books and it's timeline, but to me that doesn't weigh heavily.

District 9 looks good too, that one I wouldn't mind seeing as well.

I can't even remember the last time I went to the movie theatre...:disappointed:

If anyone sees District 9, I'd love to hear their opinions on it. :cheesy:

Wolverine was worth the theatre visit to me. Star Trek was very enjoyable and was the best I have seen this season. I have not seen Transformers2, Harry Potter or GI Joe as they were deemed not worthy of my time.

I will most likely go see District 9 as it is an interesting premise. When I first saw the trailer for it, I thought Hollywood was remaking Alien Nation.

Apparantly Transformers 2 and G.I.Joe are very entertaining films for the PG audience. G.I.Joe seems kind of like Team America actually done for real, but lunckily avoiding any pitfall of taking itself too seriously for a dumb, fun action film. That's what I've heard.

Star Trek's the only film I bothered watching at the cinema. I also think it was extremely good.

I could imagine I'll enjoy Wolverine for what it is.
