Advisor sounds big, but it isn't. I'm not entirely sure what I'm going to do yet, but here's what I know:

I'll be working 40 hours/week at a company that advices architects and building developers. The advice is about every technical part that goes along with the building process. Mostly it'll be judging whether the building will pass all regulations and whatever rules one might run into. And if not: advise how things could be done.

From what I understand it's case-by-case work. So I'd do all the advice on one case, instead of giving part of the advice (and thereby specializing in just one small part of the whole).

About 20-25 co-workers. In a smaaaallllll town that'll be an hour drive from Amsterdam, without traffic. Yes, Amsterdam. I'll be moving in with my girlfriend.

In Amsterdam. Rotterdam vs. Amsterdam is probably the Dutch equivalent of Eastside vs. Westside. But I think I'll manage.

Also, I laugh at you for working 40 hours. I only do 36.5.

Not nearly enough, but at this point in the economy I'm happy to have something. And I know what I'll be able to ask as a raise in about 6 months, so it's all good.

And you can crash, but we've got only one spare bed so it's either you or Malorie on the couch!

Pretty much. There's also quite a few people (in government mostly) who get paid 36 hours/week, but work 40 hours/week. Basically, that earns them 5 weeks of extra vacation per year.

I dunno how many Dutch beers ship internationally. Could very well just be Heineken and Amstel. You could try for Hertog Jan or La Trappe, though. Those are pretty good Dutch beers.

Rat piss beer at home, ship em overseas and they become premium?

Stella ain't that bad. But probably about the same, I definitely aren't a fan of Heineken and I loathe Grolsch.
