This was a nice stand alone kind-of team-up between Booster Gold, Rip Hunter and Magog. Nothing of consequence happened here but Booster got a chance to look into a possible future and found it to be a barren landscape (shocker).
believing the man responsible for the future looking like a shithole was Magog, Booster set out to find him and find him he did in Khandaq where Magog was attempting to prevent a hostage situation from getting worse. Magog's attitude, demeanor and tactics were much more brutal than those of traditional superheroes. In fact, oddly enough, they resembled Jack Bauer's. Magog ripped the arm off one of the terrorists who was threatening to blow up a building with children in it.
In the end the situation was contained and mostly no one was hurt but Booster sorely wanted to throw down with Magog, as did Magog did with Booster but Rip Hunter arrived in time to prevent another superhero slugfest.
Though Booster believes Magog will become a monster, Rip wants Magog to be free to make his own choices for now.
Good issue. Moral ambiguity and all.
