watching it now, by far & way the best animated comicbook movie that I have ever seen!

I just watched it myself on Saturday. Fantastic film with great stellar animation, a great story and having all the classic voices made it almost perfect. There were one or two scenes which the animators excluded that I thought would've be great to see, like the Super-teams assault on the White House, but I understand that for legal reasons they couldn't do that...

It was also great to see Clancy Brown, Lex Luthor, get top billing. Despite being named Superman/Batman - this really was Lex Luthor's story.

But I'd still rate it just below WW.

EDIT:

I am, however, getting rather annoyed that they aren't including any previews for any upcoming animated projects like the Crisis on Two Earths film coming out in Spring.

I heard from our illustrious former brotherhood member that John Stewart was indeed missing, along with the Super and Bat Families, which did upset me. Tho I realize why Stewart was out due to First Flight just hitting and Hal apparently being chosen for Crisis, but to lose the Family assualts upset me a bit. Were Hawkman and Shazam at least used for the awesome battle and bait and switch? If not then i really don't know what to think about this one.

The ownership of Superboy may have prevented the creative team from including him. The others however I'm not sure about. It may have been a question of getting permission to use NW, Robin, BG, SG & Steel.

I belive the director was also trying to keep the film from being too long so adding a whole sequence with the Super & Bat families springing them from the white house would have pushed them past their time limit. The film clocked at 75 minutes but to be honest, I wouldn'tve minded if it was longer. To me a good length of time for any film is 90 minutes.

And yes, Captain Marvel and Hawkman were present. The battle scene was, with a few changes, was right out of the book, as were many, many other scenes.

Does the fact that original storyline in the comics was one of the worst story published to date (well, it was Loeb, what can you expect?) have any impact on the movie?

Ha! I was going to ask what the book was like!

So, recommendations to watch the film. Avoid the book at all costs. About right?

Meh. enjoyed the comic despite all its plot holes.

But in the end, if you're unsure about the Public Enemies comic, don't bother picking it up; instead just watch the animated film. Its tons of fun.

Yea the storyline was kind of mixed, but I was mostly in it for the artwork. I didn't last long on the book after this though.
