I've never read Whedon on anything else. His Buffy was good so I don't think he sucks at comics, he just probably sucks at writing characters that are not his.

I read it, found it very interesting. Not his best work, I will admit that.

Very interesting? BKV's Runaways is very interesting. Whedon's is something that never should've seen the light of day.

I found evn though season eight started strong it of really fucking weird by the end. I didn't really enjoy it. Part of that was the artwork though. It was too hard to tell who was who.

The pacing on season 8 was completely wrong, that was the main problem. That, and some of the concepts weren't thought through very well. The whole army thing was just plain stupid.

I typed that on my iphone and couldn't see what I was typing. It does make no sense.
Season 8 started off very strong, but by the end, it had devolved into a very weird, confusing story I did not enjoy.
It was also too hard to differentiate between characters.

Is it sad I bought this and have no idea what you're talking about?
I just saw a post on his blog about a new comic he did called SVK that had a limited run and bought it without really checking what it was.

You need a UV-lamp to read some of the thought balloons. They're printed in special ink.

They had an article on BleedingCool a couple months back that showed how they were doing the special thought balloons, pretty interesting.

Do they provide the lamp with the book? I actually never read a complete article about it. But it is sold out, I think.

I think they do provide a small lamp. Check out this article about it (
http://www.forevergeek.com/2011/07/svk- ... -under-uv/ )
I'm interested in getting a copy. Luckily they're smart and on the website have you sign up for future updates if they make a new run of the book. Sounds like it'll be about USD$30 to buy and ship the book to the US. I'll have to think it over, I do like Warren Ellis and doubt this'll be a book I can download
