I've never seen the Savage Dragon/Obama issue either but I'll check out the usual spots in the next few days

If my retailer had a comic that expensive he would have it on the wall to show. Since I've never seen it there, I'm 90% certain he won't have it. Looked it up on eBay and laughed when someone had a CGC 9.8 copy for $75,000 for it, lol. What a retard.

I know, eh?

Especially these days, comic prices are in the shitter for back issues stuff.

Pretty much every silver age comic listed on eBay is at least double what they are auctioning for.

It's also funny to look at CGC graded copies, same grade and see the price difference. Goes to show CGC is a bit of shit, and completely subjective, just like regular issues.

Also, people are re-submitting old CGC graded issues from years back, because CGC is grading as hard, and they're getting higher grades, much higher in some cases.

Fucking ridiculous.

I hadn't heard about people resubmitting CGC'd comics. Tempts me to resubmit a few of mine then, lol.

Depends how long ago they were submitted and their grade.

About 6 years ago and all were 9.6+. A couple were 9.8 but I really think they should have been 9.9 or 10.0, never read with no marks anywhere.

6 years ago won't make a difference, they were ones in the first 2-3 years of CGC opening up shop, so around 00-02, before they adopted overstreets guidelines.

I don't think it really does.

How can grading a comic change that much, in some cases from a 5.5 to a 7.5?

They've only been around 10 years or so, so that means 30% of their time grading has been to different standards, which to a company saying they are setting the standard for the industry justify?

Throw in the fact they have never released to what standards they grade by, I'm starting to see CGC as a snake oil company.

It makes sense to me that if in the beginning they didn't have a specific guideline to how they graded stuff, and decided to adopt something, then there should be slight differences. Now, going from 5.5 to 7.5 is fucking nuts so that makes no sense.

Yeah. A guy in Edmonton re-submittied a bunch of comics that got 2.0 jumps in their grades, amazing spider-mans in the 20's, I think.

Throw in the fact the rumor they have started charging some groups a percentage of the re-sale value of the comic, it's getting very strange.

Are any of you looking for The New York Five #1? I couldn't remember if you were. We still have one at the store here, and wanted to check since I knew a few of you were into it. I can try to grab it but don't quote me in case it happens to finally sell this week.

DC Comics Presents: Legion Of Superheroes: Legion Of The Damned 100 Page Spectacular #1

was recalled last week. You can tell the recalled issue by it's yellow lettering for "Legion" here:

I love me recalled comics.

If anyones stores has one, could you grab it for me and I'll pay you?

I wanted to pick one up but my retailer had already disposed of them.

Oh, and I got Butcher Baker (or at least I presume I did, haven't had time to open the package yet but I know it's from you). Thanks!

I talked to my retailer again and he said he's actually still waiting to hear from DC/Diamond what to do with them. I told him I'm interested in a copy or two and he said he'd wait until he gets further instructions to make sure he can't get "punished" for selling them. I let him know copies were up on eBay and a rarity (he's 100% internet illiterate, lol) but he still wants to wait. So if he doesn't have to send back the covers, he'll sell me one or so. Whenever he hears I'll let you know (unless, of course, you get a copy somehow else).

Nothing in Calgary. I have already tried everywhere. The one retailer I know keeps them sold his copies on eBay.

if you by chance get one, let me know. That would be awesome.

Recalled comics are my favorite thing to collect in comics.

I imagine with all other retailers selling copies on eBay he'll be able to sell me one without it affecting his business. Since he's a small store he always is weary about doing certain stuff so he waits it out. Yet he gives us out Free Comic Book Day comic weeks ahead of time, lol.
