Why do people insist on buying Kevin Smith's Batman when it's been written all over the net that it is piss poor?

BFtC was pretty good. The only thing I'm having difficulty getting through are those one-shots: Gotham Gazette etc...
And I enjoy Kevin Smith's work which is why I buy his comics. His strength lies in his dialog which is always funny. And to be clear, the art on Batman Cacophony was piss poor; not the story.

I don't know. The overdose of Cassaday's covers we are seeing at the moment makes me quite wary of him. And most of them really suck nowadays.
But yeah, his interior is still awesome.

Red mass for Mars
I found it somewhat disappointing, to be honest.

To be honest, apart from The Nightly News, Hickman's Image work isn't doing it that much for me. It looks awesome (even if he isn't doing the art himself) and there are quite a few nice ideas and concepts in his stuff. But overall, the story kinda lacks... something. It was a nice read, but I doubt I'll grab it anytime soon to read it again. On the other hand it wasn't that bad that I won't get his new stuff.
Is anyone reading SHIELD, BTW?

Yeah, I'm pretty much reading ALL of his stuff. Shield is very good even if sometimes the pacing seems off like important stuff is happening off panel. I get the same feeling from his Fantastic Four.

Oh shit, I'm mistaking Shield for Secret Warriors.
SHIELD is top notch with gorgeous art. Has nothing to do with SHIELD though.

Yeah well, secret history... I don't really see how he is going to go from what he presents as SHIELD to what we know as SHIELD.
But it's good, yes!
