Were you fairly unimpressed with flash rebirth?
And yes, overall I was. It's lateness hurt it quite a bit, as I forgot about a lot of things in the story when reading the final issue. As a pure, 100%, no questions about it Wally West Fan, the story put fear in me that he'd be pushed to the wayside and ignored for awhile (yes, I finally know what Kyle Rayner fans feel now), but I trusted in Johns to not let that happen since he really broke with Wally.
The last issue was by far the worst, as it had this huge buildup to Zoom vs Flash, and it ended like.. 10 pages in. The rest was Barry doing the "I'm ok, let's hang out and I'll not wear my Flash suit for a few days deal" Really? Build up a huge fight to stop Zoom and end it like that? In with a bang out with a whimper I felt like.
Like I said, I'm finally feeling the Kyle Rayner fan's side of things, as I want Wally and not Barry, but it was a decent Flash story. I've just read much better ones from Johns, like Blitz and Rogue War (if you want a Flash vs Zoom, go RIGHT to those two. Perfection), so this one felt like it was just lacking something.
Maybe it was due to Johns typical dissattachment when dealing with bigger events and books, like when he wrote Infinite Crisis and Teen Titans dropped off his radar, since he was working hard at launching and building up Blackest Night. Who knows.
I'm hoping he pulls it together on Flash. Maybe I'll reread Flash Rebirth tonight/tomorrow to get a better sense on it.
