Apparently, it seems possible that Focus group testing may have leaked the premise and possibilities of the next two animated DCU Films.

It appears possible that after Batman: Under the Red Hood we might get another Superman film, followed by another Batman film.

Superman: The Lost City of Krypton, which would involve Superman going up against Brainiac.

Batman: Spawn of the Demon, which has Batman going up against Ra's Al Ghul with the help of Talia.

I don't know how reliable this is yet, but we'll know once Red Hood hits what's next, as we always find out through the preview in the newest film. If it is true, while they Superman film could be good and fun, I'm a little upset we're getting ANOTHER Superman and Batman film. They were the first two, then we got Public Enemies, followed by the new Batman film coming up?

So far Superman and Batman have composed 50% of the DCU Animated films, with Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and New Frontier and Crisis bein the others. I get they're the flagships, but it's kind of oversaturation to me. I want a Flash film. I want a film about the Teen Titans. Or hell, another Justice League film. I just want something a little different rather than the same characters being shoved forward I guess.

What do you think?

Ahhh, I agree.

As big a Batman fan as I am, and I'm a pretty huge Batman fan, I'm getting tired of the Superman/Batman films. Also it seems like they're delivering more on quantity than on quality. The first Superman film absolutely blew. Ugly animation with bad voice casting. The Batman: Gotham Knight film was only marginally better. The only one I really enjoyed was the Public Enemies film.

After watching Crisis on Two Earths and hearing how Lauren Montgomery is an Aquaman fan, I thought perhaps we could get a Justice League film with Aquaman, Red Tornado, Black Canary, Black Lightning & Firestorm, or even a Flash film which I have been banging on about for months & months.

This is, again, where DC drops the ball. Instead of diversifying their DCAU film department, they're constantly churning out Superman & Batman films. Look at Marvel's animated films. They've got: 2-3 Avengers films, A Hulk film guest-starring Thor & Wolverine, a Doctor Strange film, & an Iron man animated film. All the while they haven't churned out a single Spider-man film because hes got his own animated show. I may dislike Marvels creative decisions but their management style in films & animation far exceeds DC. Marvel will make a concentrated effort to push 2nd & 3rd tier characters to the forefront.

I agree. After solo films for Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and then Green Lantern, I really really assumed that Flash was going to be up next. And he should be. I understand the necessity of having to do Batman and Superman films, in order to bring in wider audiences, but they should do them almost every 3rd film, rather than almost every other. Because when they do JLA films, and they've done 2, the two appear in those films. And yes, New Froniter was much more a J'onn and Hal film, which it should have been, but Superman and Batman still had roles. And in Crisis, they had big enough roles, right after Public Enemies.

I just think DC needs to run off the high of a Superman Batman film with a lesser known property, like Flash, Aquaman, or Teen Titans, or Outsiders for a film or two, then bulster the 'sales' and 'audience' with another Superman or Batman film, then another one or two.

The demand for Superman and Batman is from those more unfamiliar with the DCU as a whole. But when you're adapting actual stories into film, your biggest audience is the one directly tied to it, where many of us want a more diverse library, even if we're a smaller audience. Sadly, it's rolling towards where the most money is, and parents and additional buyers are more apt to get a film about Superman than about Aquaman and Green Arrow.
