List of TV shows I will be watching

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

From last season the only new 2 shows I want to start watching on DVD are:

DOLLHOUSE
Castle

TV shows I've stopped watching:
LOST
Nip/Tuck
Grey's Anatomy

TV shows I've got on the backburner that I need to watch:

Supernatural
Rescue Me
Second half of HEROES: Season 3
Psych
Pushing Daisies

TV shows I want to get but probably won't due to not having enough hours in the day to watch tv, read books, hang out and work:

Leverage
Dark Blue

From what I hear (Mitch) DOLLHOUSE got much better, although I suspect its his bias towards Eliza Dushku :D and I caught a few eps of Castle and they looked good

This last season of Rescue Me was fantastic, bump it up the list.

Burn Notice, done by the same Network as Psych, is a series that is also excellent.

The only series I'm watching regularly is Nip/Tuck. when I was without cable last year, I made sure it was being recorded for me back home so I kept up with it when I would go home for vacations.

I'll catch up on House and Bones through DVDs though. And I'll do all of Dollhouse the same way.

I am kind of watching Secret Girlfriend on Comedy Central, along with new South Parks when I can.

Other than that it's just stuff on History and Discovery, like Mythbusters.

I don't download any shows, movies or music. Not worth the risk.

Used to download music and then had to get my computer rebuild basically. So I don't now.

Just watched the first episode.
I could go either way on it, but I really enjoy the author who wrote the book the show is loosely based on.

I've heard from quite a few people FlashForward is pretty good. Not sure if I'll start watchng it though.

One show that started out great but became awful in the last 2 seasons was Weeds. It became too ridiculous to bear. The pot dealing mom's still a milf though and her deadbeat brother-in-law is hilarious.

I wanted to watch Flash Forward but again missed the premier, and yea it seems meek? raves on it.

Saw most of Season 1 of Weeds and it was enjoyable but didn't really hook me enough to follow up.

I remember watching a bit of Weeds when it was on.

It's one of those shows you really, really, really want to be good. It's got such an original concept for a prime time show (for the time anyway) and it's mere presence on our TV could be described as 'progressive'.

Unfortunately, it did seem a bit hammy.

The mum is total milf though. I quite agree.

What about that show starring the dad from Malcolm in the Middle? 'Bad' something or other?

Dudes a chemistry teacher or something. Learns he has cancer. Has a baby on the way, needs to save money for his kids' colleges funds. Bit fucked really. Starts making and selling crack! :D
Haven't seen it. Really want to!

Hustle by the BBC is also very entertaining, it is about a group of long con players.

Breaking Bad! That's the one.

I've never actually watched Hustle. They have apparantly filmed a scene in my office building. And funnily enough, they were filming a scene on the Millenium Bridge in the morning a couple of months or so ago. I walked right past some of the actors while they were filming.

Have you seen the show, also produced by the BBC, called The Real Hustle? It's a factual show rather than a drama. Three presenters. One of them is a former hustler turned pro advisor to casinos. I think the other two a professional actors who have dabbled or have been shown specific cons to present the show with the main guy. The other guy is labelled as the 'confidence trickster' and the female presenter the 'sexy swindler'. They basically present to you a range of cons from simple three card monte cons and pin number and card cloning to more elaborate scams involving valet parking, talent auditions, hotel staff, identity theft, tourist scamming and so on. All very informative and entertaining. A great way of presenting stuff we should all, unfortunately, be aware of.

Breaking Bad looks fantastic but it'll be a long time (if ever) before I get around to watching it.

About Rescue Me, I think its an amazing show, but I simply cannot stand watching Tommy and his wife Janet bicker non-stop. It was interesting and an integral part of the story for the first 3 seasons but now its just utterly depressing and brings down the quality of the show in my opinion. The thing that frustrates me most is that about 5 times a season Janet will tell Tommy "It's over" and she really, really, really means it and wham they're back together a few eps later. I get that they're in a toxic relationship and they enable one another's atrocious behavior but after 4 seasons its time to grow the fuck up. Same shit that Saul Ti was doing in BSG. 4 times a Season he'd "quit" drinking only to be hitting the bottle 2 eps later.

In any show I watch, I expect to see some type of real character growth in main characters by the end of of the 3rd season, 4th season tops. If by the 5th season the characters is still doing the same annoying shit over and over, well there'd better be a damn good reason to keep watching - and for Rescue Me, there is. The dialogue between the guys at the Firehouse is hilarious. It's delivered with a straight face and completely deadpan.

By the way, my favorite character is Leautenent 'Lou' Kenneth Shea. That guy always has the best lines.

The end of this season of Rescue Me is enough reason to watch it. There is character growth.

I will download the real Hustle, sounds excellent.
