R.I.P. Ultimate Warrior

He was one of my favorite wrestlers of the lae 80s/early 90/ just before I fell out of watching wrestling. He was a new kind of wrestler who did everything super fast, like he didn't have enough time in the day to get it done.

And it was probably because I was a kid but the bright strings tied around his biceps made his rippling muscles look that much cooler. Also, he had a great name: The Ultimate Warrior.

I always liked him when I watched wrestling as a kid.

That guy never really got the chance he deserved. Should have been a long, lasting WWF champion.

Sad he died quite young. It's nice that the WWE buried the hatchet and welcomed him into their Hall of Fame. Not a moment too soon it would seem.

Sadly, his death appears to be another case of long term steroid usage resulting in cardiac problems before old age.

Seems the reason Warrior never truly made it big was because of a contract dispute with Vince McMahon which ultimately led to McMahon firing Warrior and then black balling him within the industry.

I still remember his come back at Wrestlemania at the end of Hogan vs Psycho Syd. Excited me to no end and then... nothing. At the time, there were speculations it was not even the real Warrior.

Warrior was possibly the only person in the WWE to win the rights to his name. I think this really pissed McMahon off since he's all about owning everything (like a prick).

So, in prickish fashion McMahon releases a DVD bashing Warrior. I think they eventually made peace and have another more praising DVD coming out now. Again, not a moment too soon.
