I watched 2.5 episode of the new Dr. Who series with Christopher Eccleston.

Does this make me a Whovian?

*cough* Doctor Who, not Dr. Who.

And until you watch more, you're just a wannabe  ;)

And since you've watched some, you're dead to me.

Lotta hostility here.

M, why do you hate The Who?

Tragic, same question.

I guess for me, while it's a show that seems like it would fit right into my interests, it's just one of those I never got into. And knowing it's a show with a few decades of history there's a lot to it that I don't want to spend time learning about I suppose. I understand you're supposed to be able to jump in at any season but that would annoy the completest in me.

Plus, in my circle of friends who are all into the comic, sci-fi things I am, I'm one of two who just never got into Dr. Who. And with a lot of people pressuring me to give it a shot and saying I'd like it, I guess it just became something I wouldn't want to more and more. I suppose mine is out of annoyance now more than anything.

I jumped on with the new series and didn't have too much problem understanding it. In fact, I've only seen a small handful of original episodes and I'm able to understand all of the new stuff. They create their own continuity while respecting the originals as well.

I'm halfway through the last episode of the new series with Chris Eccelston. I watch 30 mins of 1 ep a day while I'm working out. It took everything had to stop the episode in the midst of the Dalek invasion (Fucking Daleks)

I had 0 knowledge of (and this is for Jedi) "Doctor Who" before I started watching the 2005 series and had no problem getting into it and understanding it. They pretty much tell you everything as its happening and assume you don't know what's going on. Sme eps were slow to start but they pick up really fast and Christopher Eccelston is really likeable as the Doctor. It's a shame that he apparently doesn't come back. I shall return on the morrow after I've finished the last episode

I'm rewatching the series as well, albeit faster than you lol. I, too, went into the show the first time with absolutely no knowledge of the history of The Doctor and found myself pretty well off with a few confusing times. And yes, at first the Daleks are fucking ridiculous and I thought they appeared way too many times, but I soon realized it's similar to how often the same villains appear over and over again in comics.

While Ecclestone was fantastic, Tennant (the next Doctor) is just brilliant. Smith, the current Doctor, is just kooky and fun.

Eccelston seemed larger than life. Initially I didn't care for him too much but he really grew on me. I can't imagine how Tennant is going fill his shoes but I'm looking forward to it.

The whole "Bad Wolf" thing was so badass. I like that Mickey & Rose's mother were recurring characters and the addition of Captain Jack Harkness was great. Again, I didn't like Harkness either at first but he was a great addition

I'd chip in if I knew!

There's actually an episode written by Neil Gaiman in the 6th season that gives more story on the Tardis, a really fun episode.
