The Dark Knight Rises (Spoilers)
Dark Knight Rises was a good movie that wrapped up the Nolan series in a nice way. However, it was somewhat disappointing. There was wayyyyy too much going on the film for the allotted time and it had a fair number of plot holes.
Some scenes just seemed wtf. The way Officer Blake figured out who Bruce was when he was 10 years old seemed forced. Like Nolan needed a way to fit Blake into Bruce's story and just came up with: he figured it out. scope of what Nolan was trying to do, while grand, just didn't fit into a 3 hour movie. Then you had Miranda Tate and Bruce just having sex because...what? They were both alone? I didn't buy it.
The whole middle of the film where Bane separated the rest of Gotham from the U.S. and trapped 3,000 officers underground while the U.S. just watched, just didn't make sense in the context of the film but were explained away with one liners.
I'm not trying to be nitpicky but these along with several other plot lines didn't make a whole lot of sense. I feel that DKR might have been better served if Nolan broke it up into 2 films - for no other reason than that it would give him enough time to explore the plot points in their entirety, and make it not suck.
Overall, while it was a good movie, and ended everything as neatly as can be, I felt it was the weakest of the 3.

I'm still trying to figure out how Bruce got out of, what I'm assuming was the Middle East where the prison was, when He had no ID, no passport, and Wayne had just become bankrupt in losing his company. Outside of the "He's Batman" excuse, I can't seem to figure that out. On top of having 12 hours to get to Gotham before the bomb goes off. That bugged me thru the end of the film.
I believe the prison was India.
Bruce Wayne was one of the richest men in the world. I'm assuming he had money squirreled away.
If he didn't. Fuck Batman, he's Bruce Wayne. He's going to have friends that can help.
He didn't have 12 hours to get to gotham, I thought when he got to gotham there was only twelve hours left.

I really enjoyed it, but there are so many convenient moments of plot. I try not to think about them too much, because I'm worried I'll like the film less if I analyse them too much.
Mostly the performances of the actors and the momentum of the film always me to ignore the clunky bits, but here's a list of some of the clunky bits for your perusal...
1. I'm just not buying that some orphan can confidently know that Bruce Wayne is Batman. Lucky guess. Plus, if Blake could guess correctly there must have been several other orphans who with the power of sympathetic shared outlook on life could guess that Bruce Wayne was Batman. Not buying that at all.
2. How lucky/convenient to the story was it when Blake randomly sees Catwoman on the streets of Gotham heading for the Airport? That's pretty darn lucky!
3. You guys have already mentioned this, but how come Wayne doesn't have a private fortune tucked away somewhere? Not a bank balance for Batman, just a private account for Wayne!
4. How quickly does one recover from a broken back doing re-hab consisting of push-ups and sit-ups? To say nothing of falling from a great height and jarring your back from the non elastic rope.
5. How come the neighbourhood where the lietenant lives seems to be safe from anarchy whilst you've got really rich people shacked up together in an office place?
Oh and how much did Bale's Batman voice sound like a drunk slurring?

I remember leaning over to Alisha and saying something like "So if I ever break my back and the bone protrudes, all I need is some dirty jail cell and a cell mate to shove it back inside me and hang me from a rope for a couple of days to fix it?
And I was pretty sure the first time or so he fell from that wall with the rope it was going to snap his back again. The whole recovery period there was a little fuzzy on how things worked.

It felt like they wanted to shove No Man's Land in what should essentially be nothing more than Knightfall.Mr Wallstreet wrote:The whole middle of the film where Bane separated the rest of Gotham from the U.S. and trapped 3,000 officers underground while the U.S. just watched, just didn't make sense in the context of the film but were explained away with one liners.
