Book of Eli
Green Zone
The Fourth Kind
Dead Silence
Superman/Batman: Apokalypse
Brooklyn's Finest
Fingerprints
Most of em were okay. Lately I've been on the hunt for some really good horror films. Not torture porn or slashers but something to really make the hair on my head stand up
If anyone has any good recommendations let me know.

The new version was really good. I haven't had a chance to watch the original (even though I've had the dvd for about a year now, lol).

Paranormal Activity 1 & 2
Rec 1 & 2. The spanish version, not the shitty American remake called Quarantine.

Rec 1 was interesting, definitely better than the Americanized bastard Quarantine (which I really only watched for Jennifer Carpenter). I almost bought a bootleg Rec 2 at a horror convention but decided to pass on it for The Returner instead.

I'll add "Let the Right One In" to my queue.
I've seen Paranormal Activity 1 and Rec 1 and thought they were both fantastic.
Paranormal Activity 2 is on the "To Get" list when it hits DVD. Rec 2 is also on that list but has not yet been released in the U.S. and there is no reported date as to when that will be either >:(

Having become addicted to Netflix, here are some recommendations for good noir/crime thrillers I've watched recently:
Crime films
In The Electric Mist: Starring Tommy Lee Jones. A very well done noir film with a strong cast, story & acting.
The Bad Lieutenant starring Nicholas Cage, Eva Mendez & Val Kilmer. This film had a lot of great things going for it but Nick Cage is such a horrible actor that he ruined what could have been a fantastic film.
The Pledge starring Jack Nicholson & Aaron Eckhart. A great crime drama with a really unexpected ending. It's not a "twist" in the M. Night Shamalyan sense but it leaves you wondering.
Gosford Park starring a shitload of people. This came out nearly 10 years ago but back then I couldn't be bothered to sit through it. This is more of a crime drama/comedy. Still a well done piece of work with a huge ensemble cast.
Heist films:
The Code: Starring Morgan Freeman & Antonio Banderas. A great old fashioned heist film with light humor in which the protagonist & antagonist know each other and try to outsmart each other. This one movie is far better than the goddamn Ocean's 11, 12 & 13 films
Before the Devil knows you're Dead starring Phillip Seymour Hoffman & Ethan Hawke. A much more gritty & brutal heist film which is all drama and no humor.
Two things I've noticed while browsing Netflix: Val Kilmer & Cuba Gooding Jr. seem to be doing more B type crime/action films in recent years...
I'll post more later.

The Lodger starring Alfred Molina & Simon Baker. Another well done crime drama.

I love Gosford Park.
And I have a very good memory of Before the Devil knows you're dead and not just because you get to see a naked Marisa Tomei being fucked doggystyle.

The Oxford Murders starring Elijah Wood. A great whodunit
Devil in a Blue Dress - a great neo-noir film set in Los Angeles in the 1940s starring Denzel Washington, Jennifer Beals & Tom Sizemore

Thought Oxford Murders was so-so.

Give em Hell Malone - meh this was okay. I thought it would be better but it seemed like more of a bad satire on hard boiled crime stories. The main character's sounded more like they were reading lines from what a crime story should sound like rather than just acting really well.
It had a great cast though: Thomas Jane and Ving Rhames are the primary protagonists & antagonists.
