BattleStar Gallactica Season 4.0 (Razor) Spoilers

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

I began watching season 4.0 yesterday afternoon and its really great. The kickoff to season 4.0, Razor, was one of the best eps I've seen in a long time. Further light was shed on the life former Admiral Kane. Not only was she a hardass but she was a vengeful, imbalanced sadist. It's a shame she wasn't put out of her misery even sooner.

As a child Helana Kane abandoned her sister in the first Cylon war under some half-assed pretext of survival of the fittest. During the second Cylon war she spent the lives of her soldiers like nickels and dimes trying to show the Cylons how fearless they were, after explicitly stating that she would not just throw away the lives of her soldiers to prove a point; and executing anyone who attempted to do the right thing including her X-O by standing up to her and refusing to follow orders. Then she went and launched attacks and raids on civilian ships and executing them as well if they did not co-operate. Essentially, her entire tenure as Admiral after the surprise Cylon attack was one big laundry list of crimes against humanity. The very same humanity that she purported to save.

The secondary story was how her decisions affected first lieutenant (Shaw) and how she changed for the worse by becoming more and more like Kane. Overall a fine episode that got me right back in the mood for some BSG.

And lets not forget this fine fellow who wined and dined with us for all of 10 minutes but was forever changed by his meeting with us:

The first few eps were enjoyable however, as always I am struck by the sheer stupidity of some of the citizenry of the colonial fleet.

Baltar has become a prophet of sorts by a bunch of hippies on one of the fleets,

Callie -the Chief's wife (and our bestest friend :D) was killed by the President's aide who had discovered the She, The Chief and Tigh were Cylons.

The Chief has blown a gasket is wallowing in much depression and anger

Starbuck, Mr. Starbuck, Gaeta, & Helo are trying to find earth

And Apollo has left the fighter pilots to become a politician.

Cylon Civil War and Felix Gaeta loses his leg!

And of course, Baltar becomes a priest. I just don't get how this guy keeps winding up in positions of power.

Just finished the end of season 4.0.

The Cylon ressurection hub has been destroyed, President Rosalyn nearly let Baltar die after he finally revealed to Rosalyn (albiet very doped up) that he was the one who gave the Cylons the codes that led to the destruction of the original 12 colonies

Tory joined D'anna (#3) on the base ship.

Sol revealed himself to be a Cylon to Adama who nearly had a nervous breakdown, and further gave up Tyril, and Sam as the other 3 Cylons. Starbuck found out how to get to earth with the help of Tyril and Sam.

After a tense standoff, the humans and Cylons agreed a peace and that they go to earth together.

The humans and the Cylons finally reach earth w00t! Only to find it a barren nuclear wasteland. Thats like fate kicking them sqaw in the balls.

So now there is one remaining Cylon left. Who knows? The Shadow knows haha heehee hoho.

The mid-season finale with them finding earth to be an abandoned shithole didn't shock because some inconsiderate prick posted a spoiler of it right in an article I was reading a few months ago. Needless to say that really pissed me off.
