The Electronic Game Expo, or E3, has been taking place over the past 2 days. I believe it should be winding down today or so.
New games will be unveiled by the major consoles (SONY, Microsoft & Nintendo) as well as new accessories and some current accessories that have been re-designed.
In addition to new games/platforms/accessories being unveiled by the major console manufacturers; game manufacturers are releasing trailers and samples of their own games set to be released in the upcoming months. The problem is for the hundreds of the shitty games being released, only a fraction of them will be worth getting (much like in the comic book world).
I'm not a hardcore gamer like some of the attendees; My gaming has declined from regular to casual but there are already several games on my To-Get List which I shall list a little bit later.

Microsoft
Microsoft showed off some great games, 2 of which caught my eye. Microsoft showed off The Beatles: Rock Band with several new tracks. I'm not a Rock Band fan so I have zero interest in this. But Microsoft whipped their massive cocks out in the form of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2/ The games looks and sounds awesome. I must have!
Next Microsoft rolled out some Final Fantasy XIII footage. I was a FF fan growing up but I haven't played the series since FFX or so. I lost interest. I most likely won't pick this game up but I wouldn't rule it out.
Other games that were shown that I have no interest in were: Joy Ride, Crackdown 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Forza and Motorsport 3
The only other game that looked and sounded great and a potential must-have for me was HALO: ODST. I'm a fan of HALO so I most likely will get this, but not for a good long while.
After that, the Microsoft heads talked about new features with Live and gadgets and gizmos and what not.

Nintendo Wii
Not having a Wii, 100% of everything they rolled out is not on my must-have list but looks good and interesting all the same. i.e. New Super Mario Bros., Wii Fit Plus, Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, Dead Space: Extraction, Metroid: Other M.

SONY
SONY didn't have much for me to get excited over and even what they had wasn't all that great. The only thing from SONY on my must-have list is Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.
Other than that, they've got Assassins Creed 2, God of War 3, Final Fantasy XIII, & LittleBigPlanet among others.

All in all very meh.
With the games being produced by major companies out of the way, the one other game that stands out as a must-have for me has, so far gotten rave reviews: Batman: Arkham Asylum. After seeing the footage, some game play and reviews, it is made the cut onto my ultra exclusive must-have list.
