I have four issues of the Marvel Boy mini if you'd want it. I think it was a 5 issue mini though.

They are putting out a deluxe hardcover collection. Right up my alley.

I'd be leery of fans who loved Crossed...

Oh shit... any noteworthy artists? I'm trying to get a commission done for Natascha's birthday, but the artists either don't do them or don't respond (asshole!). If there's an interesting artist there, would you be able to ask him/her to do a commission? Obviously all costs are on me.

And the chick who did Y - The Last Man. Pia Guerra.

And a couple silver age dudes.

Do you have any idea what such a thing might cost? Varying from bust to full body to 'action' scene?

I can tell you that it completely varies from artist to artist.
By a lot.

Full action scenes aren't really done, for the most part, but are expensive.

Bust range from $40 to $100 and are generally the size of a comic.

Full figures either 8 by 10 or 11 by 17 run 100 to 200. Canadian that is.

Whether pencil or pencil and ink depends on the artist.

If you have any idea what you want, and of there is anyone there you think shed like I can ask in the morning and send you a message?

Basically what I hoped was something probably 11 by 17 (a nice size to frame) and originally the idea was to have some character in a capoeira styled stance (or, two in combat). Of course, that's a bit much asked if someone isn't really familiar with the martial art.

I'll check later this evening who there are and what they've done, so I can take a guess as what would be a good choice. I know she'd probably dig something by Guerra, but I don't know if she'd prefer Yorick or 355 (I would the latter, but with monkey, of course!).

Hrm, just looked a bit through the artist list and it'll probably be Guerra, Eaglesham or Joe Benitez. Lemme get back to you with the who and what on it all.

Sounds good.

Let me know what you decide!

Do you have e-mail on your phone? I can always send you an e-mail Saturday morning (you are 6 hours ahead of me) with prices and such for each person.

Yes, I do. I'll keep looking for it. ;)

Basically I'm willing to go to about $200 (US, in that case). 'Cause even with shipping and all that, that'll probably come around €200, which is pricey enough. Did you see that 355 + Yorick commission Guerra has on her website? Something like that would be quite nice from her. The Sandman ones are nice too. But I'll first have to check what the Hell Natascha's favorite character is (noooo clue!).

The Joe Benitez commissions aren't bad either. As long as it's either a guy or a woman neck-up. I'm no real fan of that typical 90's Image-style.

Arn, the Elektra commission he did is pretty good (except for, you know, the boobs):

But yes, even his headshots look like clueless women.

Yeah, that one.

I tried probing not too obviously last night and the answers were pretty useless. But, if it'd be Guerra, Ampersand definitely would have to be in the drawing, that was something I DID get out of her. So yeah, unless I change my mind, something like the that. Basically Yorick and 355 on the road (full body shot or basically waist up doesn't really matter, but some backgrounds like above, or mountain ranges or something like that would be nice), with emphasis on Ampersand being there. (And yeah, the preference is still 11 x 17, but if that's either too expensive or undoable, 8 x 11 -or a similar size- is great as well)

Also, could you inform what Eaglesham charges for a headshot from Death of the Endless (if he is familiar with the character, I know he's never done any official work on her)? Around $40, $50 would be acceptable.

I emailed eaglesham about sketches, he is kind of expensive.

This is from his wife:
This is Louise, Dale's wife - I take care of the sketch list! Dale can still fit in a 5 x 7 headshot ($50) or an 8 x 10 upper or full body ($120). There's no more room left for 11 x 17 sketches.

The sketches are pencils only, but very detailed. See here for examples:

5 by 7 is a little small, to me. I'm getting an 8 by 10.

You e-mailed! Nice. 5 x 7 is too small and $120 for 8 x 10 is okay, but I'd prefer inked work. Still in doubt about that, I'll let you know. Did you by chance e-mail Guerra as well?

I'm wondering about Benitez. He's not my favorite, but if he CAN do a nice Death... tempting (that Elektra on his site does look pretty good). He'd have to tone down the chest, though. I'll be thinking about this.

Small chance I may be picking up guerra from the airport. I'll ask then? I emailed eaglesham for myself.
