What are your guys plans?
For me, my siblings and their families are coming over today (they've arrivied already) and we will eat heartily and make merry.
I just have to get through today. It's going to be a long day, which I don't mind, as long as its quiet here. A little more than half of my co-workers are out for the holidays and a ton of others are working from their homes. My plans for today involve bullshitting, dicking around and killing as much time as I can.

My mom and stepdad are in Australia with my brother and sister-in-law so I've got 2 Thanksgiving "dinners" with one in the afternoon at my brother's dad's place with my other brother and my sister-in-law and my dad then another in the evening that I'm cooking for just my dad and I.
Thanksgiving is gonna kinda suck with my grandma passing away today, but at least cooking it for the first time by myself will take my mind off things...

She was 90 and it was her time. She's been suffering from Alzheimer's for a couple of years now and she was quite out of it for the last couple of months. She had pneumonia recently and we thought this was it but she lasted through it. She passed in her sleep, so hopefully it wasn't painful. Even though you get yourself ready, it's still hard to believe it happened...

Sadly we are going though a similar thing with my Grandmother right now, it does suck.
Not sad to me, the exact same thing is happening to my moms Dad now.
Were you close?

Not exactly "close" in the aspect of I went over to see her every week. I did stop by from time to time to chat before she slipped farther down.
Are you and your grandmother close?

More so over the last few years, but not especially, we live on different sides of the country, and have for as long time.

Well it's over now so we handful of people can get back to dominating the board.
By the way, how was everyone's Thanksgiving?
Mine was nice, extremely exhausting but fun. We got a 25lb turkey (that's 11.3 Kilos for you Euros.) which took forever to dress & pepare before shoving that bad boy in the oven. We also had about 6 pies and 3 cakes: pumpkin, apple, crumb, strawberry, Applecrumb, and another I can't remember, choclate chip, ice cream cake, cheesecake and banana nut cake. The sides we made with the turkey were all standard, nothing too special there. My attempt to make cranberry sauce came out looking like the vile viscus acidic fluid that the ALIENS bleed, but it still tasted great though.
Since thursday I've been eating turkey for lunch & dinner so I am, at this point, turkeyed out. I do not want to see or smell poultry of any kind for the next 2 weeks. Minimum. I am not, however, caked out. I've been working my way through the cakes and pies with GUSTO!
I also had zero time to play Call of Duty: MF which kind of pissed me off.
Now with Thanksgiving over, I'm gonna need to get my ass back into working out and shed the weight I put on.

Next year I'm going to kill the bird myself, then cook it.
I will be just like Conan!
