I know the two generally view webpages in slightly different ways. When I have to make websites, I have to include IE "hacks" in my CSS to fix certain issues related to IE. Only one that comes to mind is transparencies, usually IE doesn't handle those as well as Firefox. Also, sometimes absolutely positioned items will look fine in Firefox, but will be out of wack in IE.
Biscuit AWAY!

Some companies heavily promote Firefox because it makes the life of the IT department much easier. The companies forcing the use of Internet Explorer are usually part of Microsoft's partner program, so they're "encouraged" to use IE.Stocky Boy wrote:What is the big difference between Firefox and Internet Explorer?
All know is that the 'cool kids' use firefox, but the companies aren't jumping all over it. Possibl due to cost, I don't know.
Enlighten me. Please. Those of you in the know.
Internet Explorer is highly targeted by spyware people. It's a lot easier to infect a computer through IE than Firefox (not that FF is 100% safe).
Firefox is free, more standards-complaint (so websites generally look more like they're designed to do) and it's much safer in regards to spyware. When I use Windows, the only thing I feel safe doing with it is downloading Firefox. Every machine I've had to fix where the person uses Internet Explorer is usually broken because of the spyware it picks up.

Hard to say without knowing if it was giving you any error messages. Sometimes, clearing the cache will help.
If it does happen again, see if you can grab a screenshot of it (if there's any error message) and we can figure it out from there.
