My gift to most people was a sweets plate that I spent something like 5 hours making 6 different desserts. Everyone liked them yet my first brother complained behind my back for not making something I had made the week before. Great holiday spirit, dick, lol. For Dan/Cap'n Jack, I did get him a special gift in the form of C'thulhu wrapping paper that was from Kickstarter, he absolutely loved it (and I did give it to him early so he could show it off to his friends who love C'thulhu as well). I got my dad a 3 month subscription to Hulu Plus because he always complains about having to wait to watch certain tv shows online or having to watch them on 3 different websites.

My family isn't big on giving huge gifts so I didn't get too much:
Dan/Cap'n Jack got me the Jenna Jameson biography How To Have Sex Like A Porn Star (or whatever the title is) that is a first print and he sent it to her publicist to get an autograph and someone (hopefully Jenna Jameson but maybe a lackey) signed it and personalized to me. It's really awesome and I want to read it but I'm afraid I'll damage the book because, well, I have odd accidents happen from time to time.

My dad gave me 200 bags and backs together, which is very helpful. My second brother got me a set of high quality frisbee golf discs (I've always just used one version, which I found out is the putter and only used to putt in, which explains why my putting is awesome but the rest kinda sucks, lol). My second brother and his wife also gave me a bunch of pictures of my niece (including a framed one of me holding her the first time I saw her) [since I don't have any pics of my niece this is very good, especially since there are notes on the back of them]. My first brother and his wife got me miscellaneous stuff from one of their travels, including a lot of complimentary tea bags and 2 spiffy spice packets.

I got a lot of gift cards from the family (and a "gift card" which was money in an envelope that said "for gas" since my dad wasn't sure which gas station I use most).

New Year's!

This year will be an at-home New Year's celebration. With Shumailia knocked up (pat on back) we can't go out. So New Year's eve will be spent at home alternating between watching the Twilight Zone marathon and 60s Batman tv show marathon.

Then towards the evening the rest of my siblings and their families will be coming over to watch the ball drop. We'll order out lots of yummy and bad for your health take out food and watch the immortal Dick Clark countdown the New Year.

Who else?

The holidays looked like this:

Friday the 23rd: last day of work. Then dinner (Japanese) with work.

Sunday the 25th: Christ,as with my parents, brother and his girlfriend..
Monday the 26th: we have o Boxing Day, we have two Christmas days. For most people very convenient because of family and the in-laws. Natascha and I spent it at home with the two of us.

As for gifts:
Two cooking books (which I wanted, BTW)
Yes is more, a comic about architecture and it's history. Well, mostly about the architecture of BIG.
The Luther HC by Azzarello and Bermejo
3 CD's (Loud from Rihanna and two you people wouldn't know)
A sweater
Season 1 and the prequel of La Piovra

And for tonight...
A quiet dinner at home with just the 3 of us. Well, mostly 2 of us as Simon is heading to bed.
Watching the presidential wishes then the news, while eating dinner, then watching a DVD. We're both so tired so there is no way we are waiting until midnight. 2012 can wait!

Quiet night for myself. Usually I spend it just watching dvds. So this year I plan to finish The Office (I have 7 episodes left in the current season) and then finish Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (20 pages left). I'm at work for the next 3 hours or so, but after that I'm all free.

I am tempted to make a bonfire in the firepit that Dan/Cap'n Jack and his friends built in our backyard. I haven't used it yet so that may be fun, it is nice and chilly out so that may be fun.

The afternoon and early evening is filled with Big Ten basketball for me, then I'll go to Alisha's and watch movies with her family.
