The birth certificate says Ismael. No 'H' in the name.

On the Season premier of Whale Wars on Animal Planet. Were going to go the celeb route and profit from our son's childhood.

Hello all,

Here are a few pics of my son (it really sounds weird saying that). I'll post an album on facebook eventually but here are some pics for the here and now.

People say he looks like me because he frowns a lot and doesn't smile. And because he's a little chubby

He looks adorable and he absolutely looks like you. Congratulations on a beautiful baby boy!! Those last two pictures really do look like you more than the others.

Hey nice photos!

Baby has the same 'non-smile' as daddy. ;)

Congrats!

And it took me niece about a year to get that much hair on her head ;)

Thanks for the kind words everyone. They are very much appreciated.

The non-smile and grumpy face is proof positive he's my kid and the hospital didn't mix him up. That and the luterous hair; it runs in my family.

How has the last week been? Did you take time off of work as well for the first few days? Hope things are going great for the three of you.

I took off the one day when he was born - which I kind of had to because I'd been up for about 18 hours but no, days days off since he was born.

The late night feedings and crying have started but so far I've managed to weasel out of it by taking the "Work in the morning" defense. Wife is none to pleased about it so I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get away with it.

Does she breast-feed him or do you use baby bottles?

Thanks Mitch and please say thank you to Natascha as well. Your kind words are appreciated.

XIII, Shumaila is breast feeding. No clue when we will wean him off and get him on the bottle. I also brought a crate of pampers, baby wipes and other assorted infant products...

I could've spent that money on comics ;-(

I have a lot of friends (and my sister-in-law, too) who kept breastfeeding until the kid decided it was their time to stop. To allow their husband to participate in feeding, they would pump their milk into bags and freeze it, since it's good for a little bit that way. Usually the baby will wean themselves off breastmilk after a year and a half or so.

Last night Ismael wouldn't sleep and kept cryng so I carried him around my living room trying to rock him to sleep. Eventually I turned on the television and started watching an episode of the 60s Adam West Batman show (my favorite interpretation of Batman EVER). After the episode was over Ismael projectile vomited his milk all over me.

I fear he may not really be my son if this is his reaction to Batman.

Dude, don't put your baby in front of the telly.
And get used to being vomited on. ;)
