Quite often, actually. if something makes me laugh, instead of simply responding with a "Hahah that's hillarious" or "oh man that's so funny good job" etc, I simply rep them, often with a quick comment.

Regular rep use would cut down on one word or one smilie posts. I guess regular rep use is the first step in recovering from post whoring, eh? ^_^

It most definitely is. Though there are times I'll also still make comments when I rep as well, if I feel I have more than just a 'very nice/funny/cool' to contribute.
