Absolutely Piss Poor.

The entire 'sent to hell' thing was completely reveresed, as the Senior Partners reset time to go back to where the TV series actually ended, and since Angel knew the outcomes he managed to save Gunn. But, everyone has their memories intact, so he knows what it's like to be a vampire and have nearly killed everyone.

So then, Angel, along with Kate, and eventually Conner and a remorseful redemption seeking Eve set up shop to help everyone in LA get rid of leftover supernatural forces.

Gunn and Illyria take off for a roadtrip to do some soul searching, with a mini around that coming up.

Spike is just kinda MIA, and Wesley is dead dead, with no actions as a Wolfram & Hart ghost. Lorne is also sticking to himself.

Now, everyone in LA recognizes Angel as a hero, there are special metahuman divisions to help him, and he's found an actual angel that was part of a legion sent by the Powers that Be to help in the battle but are all trapped on Earth. Now he has to help free them, and Cordelia is consitantly reappearing to talk to him.

But the book is just utter shit. ALL the good characters but Angel are gone, and we have Kate, Conner, Eve, and a new were-leopard chick and this angel running around.

I hope it all gets retconned, and I'll be happy even though I spent money on this shit.

Yeah, it's shite. And the art is HORRIBLE. I'm thinking of dropping it, it's just that damn bad...

I'm only continuing to pick it up because it's still continuity. If it's ever dropped as continuity by Joss, then I'll drop it, and if he manages to get one decent series going to retcon it then I'll be happy, but he needs to do it soon. I won't be surprised if it just gets cancelled outright.

Could this be the shot in the arm the book needs? Good chance:

Bill Willingham new writer of Angel beginning with #28

only if they re-number, ret-con, and re-shed, re-burn, re-flush the ashes of all previous copies.

I'm gonna continue with it. The next 2 issues are Drusilla issues written by Juliet Landau and then we pick up with Willingham. So I've at least got 2 issues of non-angels shit, then we'll see where Willingham brings us. I love his stuff so it's worth it...

Oh it gets better. There's now a Spike On-going, the previously mentioned Gunn/Illyria mini series, and a few other minis dealing with Angel. Not to mention Willingham's first story is gonna suck Angel out to replace with Conner and develop him, with back ups about some new character, where Angel himself will bridge two stories eventually.

I'm seriously getting more and more thoughts about dropping this book.
