Buffy: Tales of the Vampires

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

The art was new to me so I don't know yet if I like it or hate it but I am leaning towards liking it.

The story was okay but far too long given the content. What was a 22 page story could easily have been condensed into 8-10 pages without losing any characterization or important plot and/or story points.

Overall I thought it was an okay issue. I will refrain from saying anything outright negative about Becky Cloonan because I don't want to incur The Wrath of Arn next time we meet up for a Con :)

I agree that it was definitely longer than it could have been. At least we could have had 2-3 stories in this issue, just like the mini of the same name that DH released a few years ago before the Season 8 launch.

Personally, I would have rather had the next issue of the series than this mini, or both at the same time instead of just this, since Espensen is writing the next arc with the gang going to find Oz for some help. After a 'storyline' of one issue stories, I'm ready for an arc again.

I think that's valid. As you know, I was confused from the getgo how this was shaking out. Why?!?

Ok, ok, ok, I'll give you that, this book wasn't so good in the end. What does it mean? That even some creators that I like can't interest me in the Buffyverse.

Why are we rhyming back to back?
"French is like anal, exotic but oh so unnecessary."

"I"M A VAMPIRE"
"Well, I guess we can find a room for you in the basement.."

You know...there's suspension of disbelief.

and there's just bad dialogue.

alright, done complaining for now.
