I thought it was an ok issue with people dealing with the recent loss of Blue and starting to introduce the concept of the writers and who came first which I guess will be the main theme behind the upcoming crossover.
What bothered me though was the last scene between Bigby and Beast which seemed completely forced.
Also, the art wasn't my cup of tea but I guess Buckingham needed a short break before the crossover.

I thought the issue was better than okay. I thought it was pretty good. Like you said, Willy has introduced many new ideas while people are still dealing the loss of Fabletown and Blue's death, but yea, I do agree that the "fight scene' between Bigby and Beast" just had wtf written all over it.

Even in a fantasy world like Fables, I really can't see the law which prevents Bigby from staying at the farm, being enforced anymore. The man was one of the major forces behind planning, and executing the fall of the Adversary. To continue to keep him locked out of the farm just doesn't make any sense. Apparently general Amnesty only goes so far.

Also, when the Beaver fellow in the suit was talking to Frau Totenkinder, and mentioned a seperate "Master Storyteller", who may have created both the stories and the Fables, do you suppose he was talking about Aesop?

I also like the idea of Blue not coming back. Obviously there's more going on there than Willy is letting on but I'm to be along for the ride.

Overall, a good issue.

I echo what Wally has said.
I like that Wally has touched on something which upon reflection, after many issues, now seems like a redundantly silly rule for Bigby and I can just about believe that heightened emotional feelings could lead to a fight between him and Beast.
However, I don't think we've been sufficiently built up to acknowledge Beast as a legitimate threat for Bigby, so the fight teaser didn't really have the impact it really should have.

I really like the idea of quesiton the death logic. I hope the idea actually gets explored and not blown out a cannon into our faces in a 32 page summary of a story. :D

In all, I really did enjoy the issue. I'm thinking this is because Willy actually wrote a story instead of just letting bullet points enter dialogue boxes. :D
