Good story.

Best part was Barry telling Superman that any of the races he let him win in the past were for charity. I felt Van Sciver's was kind of weak in some places.

Questions: Who is Max Mercury and what is his relationship to the Flash and who exactly is the evil looking yellow Flash?

ZOOM! The evil looking Flash is Professor Zoom, generally the 'bad' version of Flash. There have been two, one who Barry killed in order to save his wife and went on trial for, and another who plagued Wally. That character was recently de-powered but this one looks and seems to be the original Zoom who Barry killed all those years ago.

Max is basically a zen master of the speed Force who was Bart's mentor, father figure, and the like who disappeared in the Speed Force and Bart has been searching for ever since.


Great issue. I want Van Sciver on a JLA book immediately.
