Post by Tragic Angelus »

From CBR.com:

DC August 2009 Solicitations

Blackest Night gets really underway with the second issue of the title and the launch of the first three minis, and Conner returns to the DCU proper with Adventure Comics.

I'm getting nothing special except the Complete James Robinson's Wildcats and another TPB that I'll order through Amazon cause it's so cheaper than my usual retailer.

So the exact list for me is :

WEDNESDAY COMICS #5
WEDNESDAY COMICS #6
WEDNESDAY COMICS #7
WEDNESDAY COMICS #8
BATMAN AND ROBIN #3
DETECTIVE COMICS #856
BATMAN: STREETS OF GOTHAM #3
EX MACHINA #44
FABLES #87
AIR #12
DMZ #44
GREEK STREET #2
NORTHLANDERS #20
THE UNWRITTEN #4

Fuck, never realized I was getting so much ongoings from DC.

On top of that, I'm adding this month :

RED HERRING #1 >> I didn't even read the solicit and checked what it would be about. It has art by Phillip Bond so I want it.

PETER & MAX: A FABLES NOVEL HC >> This one is for Wally. I'm getting this cause it 's Fables and it'll probably important to the overall story down the line.

On the collections side, I want :

JAMES ROBINSON'S COMPLETE WILDC.A.T.S TP >> I'm a sucker for early Wildcats stories and those were quite good IIRC. Trying to find a good on Amazon for this one.

My full list is

Blackest Night #2
Blackest Night: Superman #1
Blackest Night: Batman #1
Blackest Night: Titans #1
Green Lantern #45
Outsiders #21
Supergirl #44
The Flash: Rebirth #5
Justice League of America #36
Green Arrow & Black Canary #23
Titans #16
Wonder Woman #35

I'm on the fence on:

The Last Days of Animal Man
Justice League: Cry for Justice

And I'll definitely at least get the first issue of Adventure Comics, tho I'm not sure about the rest of it.

I was very surprised about the Adventure Comics preview. The art looks gorgeous and here I was thinking that Manapul was just another Top Cow reject (see Finch, Turner, Billy Tan, Keu Cha...). Looks like I was wrong.

Yea it really does look great, and of course I'm enthralled by Johns at the helm. But I'm just not sure what all they're going to do with Conner yet. So I'll follow the first issue to see what it brings about.

I forgot about this. I'll wind up getting it but not the HC. Its softcover or bust!
