Flash: Rebirth #6

Post by Mr Wallstreet »

Mmmmmmmmeh.

I thought the drag out fight between Barry and Zoom would be dragger, outter and awesomer but mostly it seemed very...tame. The art was solid and clear, but a good number of the sequences that depicted more than one Flash looked very awkward. Instead of looking like the Flashes were running, you had lighting flashes and red blurs behind a Flash who looked like he was doing something between a walk and a skip. The scenes didn't look very powerful.

On its own, it was an okay issue. In comparison to the entire LS, it was a dissapointment. However, the revelation from Zoom that one of Wally's kids will destroy him was great.

Also, if I happen to see the entire run for Blackest Night down the line, I'll probably pick it up.

Like I told you earlier, while a good issue, it does feel as a let down in terms of the final battle and lead into Barry's life just before Blackest Night. A lot of fun character moments later on, but the big push to win kind of let me down. I really see how this could have been 5 issues total, with just about a few more pages in each issue overall.

But I agree, I liked the revelation about one of Wally's kids, and if Johns handles the Flashes for awhile it won't be forgotten as he's notorius for long running threads in those books, and many of his others. I want to put my money on Jai since he's powerless now.
