Really? i'm not a huge huge fan of it but I don't really get that vibe from it. To me it's the regular, overly detailed painted art that takes too long for the book to be on a regular schedule
I kind of liked his Superman Legion trade and am tempted to get the New Krypton trade.
I think it's the New Krypton trade that actually comes recommended by the HtA guys, who aren't big Superman fans, but found they enjoyed the story.
The HtA review of Gay for Justice wasn't a positive one. They feel there was quite a bit of melodramatic nonsense and ropey dialogue in the comic. Lots of people shouting out the word, "Justice!"
The guys at HtA did have a lot of time for the art though.

While reading titles I find that certain words pop up frequently. i.e. Throughout the GL series and especially in the Sinestro Corp. storyline, the words "fear" and "evil keep popping up. This didn't necessarily ruin the title for me at all. I felt it was appropriate and it made the scope of the story seem larger than life - which is how it should be.

Haven't you heard? This is the lead in to the Justice Corps corss-over, in which Earths heroes form a Justice Corps to police all the other Corps after Blackest Night concludes.
It will also be a thumb ring, so Hal Jordan can wear it, since all his other fingers have rings already.
"French is like anal, exotic but oh so unnecessary."
Holy shit, it does actually say "Gay for Justice"!
And I skipped it but downloaded it. Really stupid, IMO. Glad I skipped it, lol. This was more of an introductory issue so it's giving the reason behind all of the guys getting together with a backup storying on the original of Congorilla/Bill/whoever the fuck the gorilla is.
I flipped through it in the store today. Art is fantastic. It's like Alex Ross without the 50s models and the art looks like it's telling a story as opposed to being static portraits that don't flow into each other.
HtA's Al Kennedy read out a line of dialogue from Green Arrow speaking to Green Lantern in front of the rest of the JLA for a giggle. Something like, "I'm with you baby. All the time. All the way". Al Kennedy then said, "Ollie gay for Hal".
From the little bit I did read. It seems Hal's got the right attitude, but Supe's is being all boy scouty.
