Not like this is the first time they offered it. I just wish the cover was better, that's pretty MEH to me.
And, as one retailer stated, Flashpoint tie-ins are actually selling better than Fear Itself tie-ins and the chances are high that in 10 years people will still talk about Flashpoint like people still talk about AoA yet no one will talk about Fear Itself except for saying, "wasn't it that shitty crossover that killed Bucky?"

Yeah, we have sold out and had to re-order EVERY Flashpoint #1 tie in, and even then we have about 1-2 copies of each one left, if that. And we hardly have any #2s of a single one. We've been selling out of Flashpoint like mad, whereas we're still sitting on plenty of Fear Itself tie ins that I've yet to hear a single person come and ask for.
What gets me is that this didn't seem to really work out fantastically for them the first time around, and I doubt it will again this time. I mean, trading 50 books for 1 means you'd have to charge probably over $100 just to break even and get the money for one book that you could have gotten for 50. I know there aren't a lot of them, but there are readers who come in looking for tie ins and more after a series has finished because they found out one tied into it more than they thought or heard it was good and so on.
I still think this is a dick move, but it just doesn't even make sense to me financially. There's no way a book that comes out in 2011 is going to automatically reach a $100+ price tag the day it comes out. I just don't see how it would work.

Jedispyder pointed out a week ago via Bleeding Cool News that certain Marvel titles are decreasing in page count putting them at 19 pages per issue; one of which is Moon Knight. This is the latest example of Marvel's unscrupulous behavior in the marketplace.
Increasing the price while simultaneously decreasing page count again and again without announcing it. If this weren't bad enough this comes on top of Marvel's initial promise of not reducing the page count and adding back up stories as a trade off for the price increase -only to have them go back on their word and offer a half assed explanation. Granted losing a page isn't the end of the world and there is no word on whether this is permanent or not, I'd rather not support Marvel's shenanigans and if it means dropping MK, then fine. I know I'm not single highhandedly changing buying trends in the public but at least Marvel won't be getting my money.

I read that article the other day and was very surprised. I mean, 19 pages? That's incredibly rare, but charging 3.99 for that book? What justifies that? The majority of the Marvel books I read are 3.99, which is why I read so little Marvel. I want to add Amazing Spider-Man, but it's 3.99 AND comes out twice a month. Once a month I could handle, but twice is quite a bit in that case.
I don't want to drop X-Books, but this kind of price action keeps me from getting and staying on books like Heroes for Higher, Amazing Spider-Man, and Avengers, many of which I want to read regularly.

If they make all $3.99 books polybagged then I will just up and quit buying them. I'll go straight digital...piracy digital, that is. They said they didn't plan to sell a non-polybag version and that kinda makes me mad. I hate polybag issues, they're a horrible waste of money unless it's for something special. Death issues and such, I'm fine with a polybag. Yet a regular issue? No fucking way.
