FEAR ITSELF #5 (of 7)
FF #8
ALPHA FLIGHT #3 (of 8)
UNCANNY X-MEN #542
X-MEN LEGACY #253
X-MEN LEGACY #254
X-MEN #15.1
X-MEN #16
ASTONISHING X-MEN #41
X-MEN: SCHISM #3 (of 5)

Nothing too bad here. Looks like most of the books I get have stopped double shipping for Marvel, at least this month. And I must admit I'm intrigued by the premise of X-MEN; while an X-Men/FF team up sounds yawn worthy, I have to admit having Magneto and Doom on the same side makes me interested. X-MEN has definitely become the sort of 'team up book' which I'm kind of ok with. It should be the book that ties into events, keeping it out of the primary titles as well.

Plus, We're on our way to getting Havok and the gang back in Legacy! I can't wait!

I think it's because they tried to place all of the Fear Itself books together, even if they were in ongoings, like having Uncanny up far away from the X-Books.

I also like how one book has two issues out, the regular and the .1 issues and yet, it is the regular one that is called "a perfect jumping-on point issue!".
Isn't that the purpose of their .1 initiative?

I read more Marvel than DC but their politics always makes me think they are dumb.

Apparently the .1 initiative has nothing to do with jumping on points. I read an article about that a while ago.

It was originally told to be a jumping on point, but that's total BS. The Uncanny X-Force Point One was in the middle of an arc and had nothing to do with the series itself, pretty stupid.

The Uncanny X-Men Point One wasn't a bad jumping on point I thought. It dealt with a story that needed to be told but would have put a filler issue in between a storyarc in Uncanny. And the Avengers Point One seemed to be a self contained story, though I think it would have had a lot of new faces and fewer descriptions than a jumping on point should have. They seem to have sold surprisingly well for us for the most part, with only one Uncanny and maybe 1 Avengers or so left. The rest so far have sold out.

I've read a bunch. They were pointless jumping on points, they would have worked as single issues fillers.

Iron Man 500.1 or whatever it was, was the only good jumping on point I thought, with Tony in an AA meeting talking about his life.

That one and the Uncanny one were pretty good. The rest was filler and useless.

I suppose the nice thing about not having them forced into the actual series is that we aren't struck with a filler story that most would have passed on anyways that's forced in between stories but has few results or little meaning to what's going on (like Uncanny's).

The Avengers one seemed to set up the next arc or two with the resurgence of Ultron and dealing with the 'Architects' board Tony saw. Uncanny's was good but for those who knew Magneto was 'good' again (i.e. regular readers) the issue wasn't really necessary but still an interesting read. I admit I would have been a bit disappointed it it was placed in between 2 stories as it really didn't offer much to the regular arcs in any of the X-books.

Whenever a solicit or creator says "a great jumping on point..." I dismiss them straightaway. Every title, no matter when you jump on requires you to go back and fill in allllllllllllll the blanks so you know what is going on right now. For limited series/Vertigo/Icon titles its not so bad but heaven help you if its a serialized comic. Most serialized comics require you to know the backstory for the past 5 years (X-men, Avengers) their most recent events & any other mega event happening in the larger universe.

Anyho:
Avengers #16
Uncanny X-men #542
Punisher #1
Punisher #2
Daredevil #2
Mystic #1
X-Men: Legacy #253
X-Men Legacy #254

I really wished I could've continued to get New Avengers, Thor, Herc & Secret Avengers.

Does anyone know why Marvel are being cunts and double shipping some of their titles? i.e. X-Men?

Agree with whoever said the solits are all over the place. The list was a hot mess.

I noticed that both Daredevil & Punisher #1 shipped with a $3.99 price tag, however subsequent issues shipped with a $2.99 price tag. Anyone know if they will be $2.99 ongoing? Cause that would be great for me.

Seems like Nick Spencer & Johnathon Hickman are all over the place. Anyone read their stuff and is it as brilliant as everyone says it is?

Maybe: Moon Knight #4

I'm fairly certain they'll be 2.99 if the second and third issues have that price tag. Issue one of most books at Marvel is increased, like FF, and remainings are dropped. I would assume there are more pages in the first issue though.

Hickman's FF has been good, but it's all I've read of his. It did make me interested to read SHIELD but I heard that was almost impossible to reorder so I passed.

I read somewhere that Marvel's policy is presumably to ship 20-page $2.99 issues, but more than 12 issues/year.

Right now Marvel is sneakily doing the whole 20 pages without explicitly saying it. It's pissing off a lot of people and a campaign may or may not have been started for the new solicits to break down between comic and ads (cause saying 32 pages means shit when it's 12 ads and 20 pages when it used to be 10 ads and 22 pages). At least DC straight up said, "Hey, we're doing 20 pages of comics with 2 letters pages now" but Marvel is being a dick about it.
