If I had to come up with a list of top 5 companies I would *not* want to purchase Marvel, Disney would probably be #1.

My brother is seeing some pretty big ramifications from this right now. It's a fairly big deal for movie finance right now.

I don't know. Can Marvel still publish stuff like the Max line if they belong to Disney?

Also, the newest Marvel hero :

Presumably Disney will not be seeking to alter the Marvel products in anyway that will reduce it's customer base... we hope.

Unless they want to streamline the publishing division and make it accessible to all ages.

To do that, we hope they would weigh up some sort of 'customer reach vs. potential customers buying' scenario for both a PG product mix and a varied product mix. WE HOPE!

Or even switch it up and introduce a line of age friendly comics (existing or not, say the main marvel heroes) that they want to market to Targets, Wal-Marts and other chain stores, while possibly keeping the more mature items straight to your LCBS.

I don't see Disney as taking much of an interest in Marvel's comic book publishing, but more with their movie business. Marvel recently moved all of its movie making ops in-house so the bigger issue, to me, is if/how much Disney will interfere/take control of Marvel's films. I don't know Disney's history about the level of creative control they give their artists.

Disney could be just as bad as Warner Bros. i.e. Wonder Woman (RIP) or they could be hands-off to a degree and let Marvel continue making profitable (if not shitty films).

Some comics journalists/specialists wonder if somewhere down the line (very far down though), Disney could just dissolve the publishing end of Marvel and license the comics rights to the characters to other publishers.
Now, that would suck!

This is something that people have been rumoring for a while, except Marvel doing it as the movie and video is so much more profitable.

X-Men has been great lately.

X-Factor is great noir feeling book.
Deadpool is hilarious.
War of Kings has been a great read.
X-Men Utopia has been very good so far.
Captain America is phenomenal.

I can think of more later, saying it only has 3 good books is a little harsh.
