You've got a ton of graphic novels in floppy copies too, don't you? Magnificent bastard. :smug:

I am totally *yoinking* some of your stuff for my Must Get list... Liberty Meadows, Mouse Guard, Runaways, She Hulk, etc. You've mentioned Red Star as awesome as well.

Was The Ultimates v1: Super-Human worth a hoot?

I'd love to get Animal Man, Planetary and Swamp Thing someday soon. Same with The Walking Dead, but I'm getting the compendium when it gets out.

We need to wack this all in an Access database and count how many of us have what. :)

Does that comic database website allow you to pull data into Excel?

A graphic novel is a trade! Comic books are floppies or comics.

Not entirely, right? Jinx is a GN, but it's not a trade. People often speak of Watchmen as a GN, but basically it really isn't. It's a maxi-series collected in TPB-form.

As I understand it, a trade paperback is a collection of floppies in one book and a graphic novel is a stand alone book.

I thought novel did not apply to the floppies, as it is not a entire story. I never liked the term graphic novel to begin with, though.

That's cool. I never liked the term 'term'. Just doesn't sit well with me.

Hmm. Mayhaps we should have a poll of what term people like for each thing, then?

Seeing people call mini/maxi-series "graphic novels" really pisses me off. They use those terms cause if they use "comic series" then they think people won't want to see it. "Graphic novel" has an air of mystery around it, even though people don't know what the fuck it really is.

Good discussion: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_no ... f_the_term

Yeah, I never really got the gist of that. BD can't be sold outside the US or something? Why?

Legal issues
A DC press release confirmed it would not be released outside the United States "due to international copyright concerns and related issues".[4] This was not an issue with previous volumes, as the Victorian setting meant that the majority of characters that were used were from works no longer under copyright.

The legal notice in the front of Black Dossier says that the character of Billy Bunter is used with the permission of IPC Media. No other permissions are listed.
