I know we have had threads like this before, but I was speaking to people last evening who rad Watchmen and wanted to read other good comics.

I thought of a bunch off the top of my head, but figured I would ask you guys as well.

What are the best trades out there?

Camelot 3000, a very underrated maxi series that is very good for its time...

The most critically acclaimed (asides from The Watchmen) are Batman:Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, Maus, Kingdom Come.

If they're into Alan Moore specifically, there's V for Vendetta, From Hell, LoeG, Swamp Thing.

And asides from that there are loads and loads of great comics. really depends on what rubs their Buddha. I typically recommend Y the Last Man, Preacher, Fables and The Walking Dead to everyone.

Not sure if its on TPBs anymore, but all of Grant Morrison "Animal Man" was fantastic. Took a Z-Grade character and turned him into a B-Grade Character, and then 52 turned him into an A-Grade Character (yay!)

RONIN is pretty good
We3 is fantastic
Pride of Baghdad is a great read
Thor: Vikings will knock your balls off
Identity Crisis - while it had some huge plot holes, tugged on all the right heart strings
Bite Club - while still not having read this despite sitting on my bookshelf for more than a year, I hear is pretty damn good

Adults, yes? Brubaker/Philips

Sleeper season 1 (Out in the cold), Sleeper season 2 (All False moves)

going by memory in trade titles, but almost all adults I've recommended them to liked them.

The Red Star. It's pretty great, although it comes out about annually. But the first arcs are very good.
